Crysis on Steam - 'Registration Code'

So today, Steam are having a sale on all Crysis games. Since the main game by itself was only £2.50, I decided to buy it. I downloaded it, installed everything it asked me to, and ran the game. Then I was confronted with a box asking me to 'Enter [my] registration code'. A 20-character code was already in the box, so I pressed 'done', only for it to reappear moments later.

I've tried it again and again, to no avail. After googling the issue, I tried running Steam as an admin and doing it then, which also failed. I also found out that this is a very widespread issue. Does anyone know anything about the problem, or how to solve it?

Edit:

I had to contact EA support and receive a new key. The person they used for the live chat did not have a good grasp of the English language, however they gave me a new CD key and it worked like a charm!

I'm having the same problem. As far as I know, everyone who bought Crysis as part of the sale received an invalid key.

So is the only way I'm gonna get working games that I paid for by calling up tech support in India or whatever to get a new key? Does Steam actually have any plans to fix this themselves?

I just used the chat. I didn't call anyone. They have a live chat system for that purpose. Steam is working on it. But it may be a while. The chat was fast and free anyhow.

I went on the live chat, a guy there gave me a new code and that worked fine.

Now I've just got to make it stop crashing every five minutes and I'm set!
