This review has been a long time coming... I've owned Crysis for about 2 years now and after playing through it several times and accrueing a massive amount of experience in its Sandbox 2 Editor, I've finally decided to review it.

To summize Crysis shortly, its an open ended fps that takes advantage of a nano-suit that grants you four different powers *strength, speed, cloak, and armor* all of which augment exactly what you'd think they'd do, i.e. speed makes u run, reload, melee, faster, ect ect. Your stuck on an island, told to rescue some hostages held by Korea...you don't know WHY Korea's there, but it probably has something to do with what the hostages *who are archeologists* are researching. From the get-go there is some sense of another "presence" on the island that continually haunts your genoicde across the island... To say any more would be to spoil the game.

Visually, the game is absolutly stunning, if you have the rig for it. On lower settings it still looks appealing, but not nearly as much as on the higher settings, however its open fps concept still seperates it from most other conventional shooters. The holy shit factor actually never really kicks in to be honest. Instead, the visuals just remain impressive throughout the entire game, they never become stale, its a continual feeling of whoe that trumps the holy crap feeling of other shooters that wanes quickly off as you see the scene repeat a dozen times or so.

As mentioned before, the game allows you to approach your combat situation to how you see fit, meaning you can swim across a lake and up a hill to go snipe a village, or just run in guns blazing. The fact that the suit allows you to cloak and run around enemies, or turn on strength mode and jump onto rooftops wielding a mighty pretty minigun keeps the gameplay fres. For the most part, the ai is impressive for a non-linear shooter because of their ability to adapt to changing conditions..

Speaking of Changing conditions, the physics engine allows most makeshift buildings to be destroyed, alowing for a much more dynamic gameplay then i've seen in most shooters. anything that you think can move, moves. You can even pick up animals like chickens and throw them at koreans using strength mode for an instant kill (always fun) or grab a teacup *idk why crytek decided to do this but i guess they were bored* and throw it too.

The story, as stated before, is pretty lackluster with average performance's across the board, however its insane character models at least make them look interesting to look at.

Crysis is fun, interesting, diverse, and a pc killer. It's also one of my favorite games to date...

(o and sorry for the accidental early post :p)

Not really much of a review. More content needed in every aspect of the game to be a good review. Maybe add an image or two.

Ok, this post is redundant as the OP edited his review, I'll edit my post below to reflect this.

The edited review is better, but it still lacks depth; you make good points but never really go into much detail.
