People are divided about this game. Some say it is the most amazing shooter ever with superb graphics and some say that its an average shooter with graphics worse than Halo 3. I tend to agree with the first group. I had lots of fun with that game, my PC is strong enough to run it in High details so I was amazed out of my skin with the graphics. THERES NO WAY IT LOOKS WORSE THAN HALO 3!!! The gameplay is fun, action is adrenaline full and levels look so amazing that you easily forget that they are a bit repetitive. What are your thoughts about the game?

Yes, it's beautiful...and maybe Nossy spent a few nights with a shot glass, some crisco, tissues, and this game, but compared to other games, Crysis is average.

It's beautiful, but doesn't need a behemoth of a PC to run it anymore. Most average £500 PC's can run it on medium.

As for the gaming aspects, it's nothing spectacular.

Graphically, it's superb. It's a truly beautiful looking game.
The storyline simply serves to hold together the several objectives. It's certainly not The Longest Journey material, but that's OK, because I do not expect any more from the story than to give me the slightest sense of coherence. The very basic story is, however, complemented by excellent voice acting.
Gameplay? Mediocre, at best. Very generic, the suit functions become a gimmick over time, the game suffers from some severe pacing issues and the difficulty curve is actually more of a sinusoidal wave.

Average-y gameplay, with some fun elements (the suit modes) but mostly it's just a generic shooter with eye-destroyingly good graphics and impressive physics.

The sandbox is great fun, though.

My computer may be a monster *cough* 10 gigs of ram *cough* but it can hardly support the game due to its piece of living bullshit graphics card. I'm getting a new one in a week and I'm breaking my old one in 2 pieces. I think its a little overrated but not nearly as much as WoW.

What I found most entertaining about the game was going back to the start after completing it, and just play games with the Koreans.

Hilarious to pop out of camo right in front of a lonely soldier and throw him a mile with my strength, and then go back into camo, and repeat.

For me the later missions were okay, just no way to mess around with the aliens:(

And I thought the graphics were very good, and I were running it on medium.

It's not spectacular game play wise but it's fun. It's fun to mess with the physics engine in sandbox, and it's like porn on high detail.

The only problem with the game is that not many people can see it in full. I can run it on high details with 1024x768 res and get solid FPS. I tried pushing everything to max but then my poor PC starts crying and shaking like a baby that smoked an entire pack of Cuban cigars. So, sadly I never saw the game in Very High and I cant even imagine how great it must look

I loved the game, I HATE it when people just write it off as a tech demo. It was a great game, yea the story isn't the best thing ever but it isn't the worst either if you actually take it in perspective. People call it an average shooter and I say bullshit to that, really the amount of enjoyment you get out of the game is proportional to you creativity with the suit. It is a really fun game if you use a little ingenuity and just experiment with the suits powers and your objectives. Warhead really nailed it and made the whole experience solid and gave a nice balanced use of the suit throughout the game.

Crysis is like a Rorsharch test of a game, what people experience from it reveals details about how they play the game. If you approach everything the same cookie cutter macho gun shooter way as many other FPSes and don't think much about how to use the suit powers you'll think it has average gameplay and the suit is a gimick. If you experiment and mess around with combining the freedom of the levels different uses and combos of the suit powers and different weapons and weapon attatchments you'll have a blast.

I know, because I started out the former way and it didn't grab me until I started again, bumped the difficulty up to delta and started playing the latter way, and then it was fantastic, one of the most fun and varied and tactical FPSes I've ever played.

The best way to play IS on Delta, I settle for nothing less. It is REALLY fun just throwing an explosive barrel and shooting it when it comes close to contact on a group of Koreans lol. Or doing what I like to call the "sonic C4". Pull out a C4, go into speed mode, dash past a tihgt group of baddies, drop c4 while still running, keep running, BOOM.

Agree bro. Playing on lesser difficulties takes a lot from gameplay. Especially since eneimes on those lesser ones dont do anything

Aside from your argument being "GRAFFIX," which I normally hate on, I put it aside for Crysis because it really is just that pretty.

I really thought it was "Oh, okay, it's Farcry. Again. Big open environments, shitty vehicles, AGAIN."

But once you start learning how to use your suit powers, the game is DAMN AWESOME.

Instead of "oh, he threw a grenade at me, time to die!" it's "Oh, he threw a grenade at me, time to sprint out over here, power-jump over this fence, hide behind this building until my energy regens, cloak up, sneak out and pick off these guys, sprint back over to my original position and continue on with the map."

The ONLY thing that I despise about the game is the VTOL section, what a nightmare. Maybe I just suck with the flying vehicles but I thought they were down right terrible, the other vehicle sections where fine. Although that awesome tank section mainly left me ditching the tank half way through and going on an RPG spree. Still fun to send a hummer crashing into a gas station or building and watching the thing blow sky high causing all sorts of mayhem.

Yeah, the VTOL section was the only bad part.

Sonic C4, heh, that's awesome. Just when you think you've tried everything...

Yea just make sure you got the timing down though. I cant tell you how many times my ass caught the tail end of the blast wave resulting in my flying lifeless corpse.
