Sometimes I really wish I'd found the time to get more into warhammer back when I first tried all those years ago
Ah the fun of extensive remodelling dark eldar to make spyrers in Necromunda (1 Jakara turned hunt leader, 2 Yeld). Or if you are referring to item choice, my scavvie gang (ALL THE WING MUTATION SNIPERS!)MinionJoe said:I hope they give a lot of attention to gang customization. That was always my favorite part of Mordheim/Necromunda/Gorkamorka.
I sincerely hope that this'll be good as well... but then I remember what happens when you're optimistic and the game turns out to be shit. Cynicism is the safer bet, one suspects.Ed130 The Vanguard said:Ohhh, does that mean we'll see other 'speciallist' games come to PC as well like Battlefleet Gothic and Necromunda?
Lets hope this is good and not another Storm of Vengeance.
It really could, but that would take work and Games Workshop is run by moderately-trained chimps at the best of times.ObsidianJones said:I'll be that guy.
With the success of Team Fortress, Titanfall, and to the lower end Chivalry MW... Why is it so hard to make a decent team vs team Third Person objective action game? Either 40k or Fantasy.
You have so many units for each faction, so many factions. So much loot, so much lore, So many powers... It's a no brainer. Done well, in my mind, it could even topple DOTA.
Hell, if you want a titanfall experience with magic and insane weapons, the 40k version will got you covered. If you want to wield a great hammer while smiting the blasphemers against the emperor, go to the Fantasy side of things.
There was a New World alternate setting for Mordheim that was published in Town Cryer, and I think it had a Lizardmen Warband. But we're unlikely to see them if the game keeps to the classic city setting.Soviet Heavy said:I don't think the Lizardmen were ever in Mordheim. Most of them stay on the New World continent of Lustria, with only the occasional expedition to the Old World when the Slann get antsy.Worgen said:This sounds interesting and all, but can I play the lizardmen?
To be fair, the Slaan and foreseen the rise of Blood Bowl millennia ago, and had been training generations of players for the day it would eventually rise. They were *READY*.Worgen said:If they showed up for the football game then they can show up for this.
I'm liking how your mind works.rcs619 said:It really could, but that would take work and Games Workshop is run by moderately-trained chimps at the best of times.
I think a team-based action/shooter could be cool. You have all these different factions and groups, and considering the difference in power levels, you even have a chance for an asymmetric shooter experience too. I'm not sure how you'd do it though. Maybe the Imperial Guard team spawns a bunch of bots to support the player characters. Or maybe the team just has a higher player cap than say, the Space Marine team. Either way, I think it could be pretty fun. Take a page out of titanfall and be able to spawn in Lemun Russ tanks, Dreadnoughts, Crisis suits and such to support the team.
The Warhammer 40,0000: Space Marine multiplayer was pretty fun, but space marine vs chaos space marine got really dull. The Horde mode was really enjoyable. Even some kind of Mass Effect-style objective-based horde mode where you could play different factions would be fun. The Blood Angels have allied with the freaking Necron when both their asses were on the line, someone could come up with a scenario for that cooperative shooter to work.
I'd love a Battlefleet Gothic game but realistically it'd probably need to be an RTS.Ed130 The Vanguard said:Ohhh, does that mean we'll see other 'speciallist' games come to PC as well like Battlefleet Gothic and Necromunda?
Have you by any chance played Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy?rcs619 said:I think a team-based action/shooter could be cool. Necromunda would be sexy. Om nom nomEd130 The Vanguard said:Ohhh, does that mean we'll see other 'speciallist' games come to PC as well like Battlefleet Gothic and Necromunda?
Could you Be any one of the great clans ? And could you have accesses to Grey seers ? By the Horned One I'm going to name my Grey Seer Thanquol with Boneripper Rat ogre. Hopefully Marks and mutations for Chaos as well.Gorrath said:They'll stab you in the back when you're too focused on how they stabbed you in the front. I love the skaven! My wife took on the pseudonym "Ten Crowns" because the leader of her Skaven warband had that bit of coin left in his pocket when she built her very first list. ON an unrelated note, falling in love with a nerd-girl is the best possible thing.The_Darkness said:So, my choices are: Some grimy soldiers worshipping a guy who was basically militant Hercules, possessed fools who have sold their souls to the dark gods, some mercenaries... Or the Skaven.
The Skaven. No contest. At least they're honest about the fact that they are planning to stab you in the back.
I was just thinking that a Necromunda game would be cool. Back in the 90s, there was a fan conversion game for Necromunda being made on the original half life engine, but they got a cease & desist from GW.MinionJoe said:I hope they give a lot of attention to gang customization. Oh anything BFG would be nice, as long as its good.ForumSafari said:I'd love a Battlefleet Gothic game but realistically it'd probably need to be an RTS.Ed130 The Vanguard said:Ohhh, does that mean we'll see other 'speciallist' games come to PC as well like Battlefleet Gothic and Necromunda?
