Custom Dreamcast

Story:

I found an old Dreamcast lying around in my house from years ago, and ashamed to say, forgot I had.
I connected it up and it didn't seem to tune so, so instead of jumping to the sensible conclusion that it's maybe the lead, I thought it might be the graphics card, so I took it apart in an attempt to see if something was up with the card. XD

The parts were all fine.

All of the parts are all still in brilliant condition after being taken out of the case, and after finding another picture lead I'm planning on making a custom case for it.

Here's where the point of the thread comes in: Anyone fancy contributing a few design ideas? I'm torn between making a whole new case or simply spray painting the current one.

Another point of the thread: Anyone else ever done any customization jobs to an old (or even modern) console?

Interesting idea, however the size and shape of the controller ports pose a problem. Not to mention the internal components wouldn't fit. Maybe a regular PS2 though with a bit of modifying...

Do something less expected, buy a model one Sega Genesis, cut the circle out and make that the disc drive for your Dreamcast Genesis.

Hmm the DVD player one was interesting. I do need to keep in mind it needs to be something about the size of the Dreamcast's case itself. Believe me the parts were really cramped in, not a lot of space in there. Actually the NES would be the most efficient. Gives me a space to insert disc

OK Finishing post.

My plan is to get an old laptop, I mean a really old one from the 90's, take out the laptop components and use that case for the Dreamcast and connect it to the monitor.
