It especially makes sense when you consider Kinect sold a million units in ten days (as reported on the Escapist and everywhere else). At that point, you seriously have to wonder what constitutes an intentionally "restricted" supply.mjc0961 said:So I wonder how long before people start up the "They aren't making enough on purpose" bullshit like they did for Nintendo a few years back. I mean, yeah, it makes so much sense not to make enough of a product that everyone wants to buy. Every company wants less sales on purpose. Insert me rolling my eyes here.
EDIT: Apparently they already have. *facedesk*

Very good points. It certainly doesn't feel like it's time for the 360 and the Playstation to have a complete upgrade just yet. The 360 and Playstation, that is...Amnestic said:Every store selling Kinect and Move near my house still has them in stock. I could walk in and buy one today if I wanted to. I'm not going to, but I could.
But then I'm British, so Gamestop probably aren't talking about over here.

1) Don't need to invest another £250+ in a new console
2) Don't have to worry about them failing at backwards compatability or dropping it after the first set of units.
3) There's still a lot of life in the current generation (well, the Wii could probably do with a few upgrades)
4) I only just bought a PS3! I need time to play games on that first
So yeah, it's not unreasonable for some console players to want a bit more time with this generation before moving onto the Xbox 1080, the PS4 and the Puu.
No, I love consoles (I have a PlayStation 2, an Xbox 360, a Wii, and an Original Xbox). It is a good thing because companies usually give up on their respective consoles way too soon and they don't reach their full potential (PlayStation 2 being the exception). This means developers will continue to (hopefully) push the current generation of consoles beyond what people initially thought they were capable of, visually, and with gameplay innovation. That is what I meant by this being a "good thing"!Vanguard_Ex said:Are you saying that because you don't like consoles, or...?Jeff427 said:WooHoo... if this reinvigorates the market, that means NO new consoles in the near future, which can only be a GOOD thing!
