I am having a nightmare with these people at the moment, so I would love to hear some of your dealings with these hypocritically named people.

My fury comes from DCUO, I bought it and enjoyed my first free month, I got a free second month by trading in games but half way through that month I completed my main didn't want to play any more.

Then the free month was given to me for the PSN being down, then at the start of the month I read an email saying £16.37 had been withdrawn from my mums account and that plus the change on my PSN account was used to top up the subscription.

I was never told the game configured itself like that, to automatically renew subs. So I did what any person would, deactivated the auto renew feature and jumped on to Sony's website to get a refund.

After being given a dead link and a phone number, I emailed back saying "I won't call you to sort out a problem that should never have happened, I should have been warned about or given the option to turn auto renew on and I don't want to spend money to get a refund. I also doubt that Sony would ring me to sort out any problem I caused them, they would email".

I am now up 22 emails sent to try and get my money back, most of which have been the same "please use this link or call our number at ......." The link is still dead.

The only people who seem to have a clue on how to help are American's who can only tell me they can't help 'cos they can't give returns to UK residents. So I am left with the UK customer support people who seem to love to copy and paste the same email....

So after 23 days of emailing back and forth I am still no closer to having my money back.

Just ring the number, seems the obvious thing to do.
It's the principle of the thing! If I did something to mess up Sony in someway they would email me, why can't this issue be sorted out through e mail as well?

Going to get my money back sooner or later just amazing how long and how many emails it's taking to sort it out.

I also think it would be interesting to hear other peoples woe's with customer services.

No offence, but clearly the e-mailing thing isn't working. I think you should just bite the bullet and call them, although it depends what's more important, your principles or your refund.
