Continuing on my nostalgic rampage, I came across another gem of animation, Cybersix.
The animation in this particular series is downright stunning. It was made by Japanese animators, but the aesthetic feels much more similar to that of the Tintin cartoons.
Anyways, this show follows the exploits of Cybersix, a Nazi created experiment on the run from her creator and his hordes of mutants. Cybersix is like a cross between Batman and Zorro plus a gender flip.
By day, she disguises herself as a man and poses as a highschool teacher. And she has a brother who's consciousness is kept within a black panther. Awesome
I heard this show was banned in the States because of the whole cross dressing angle, so it sucks that they had to miss out on this beautiful show. When I said the animation was stunning, I'm not joking. Look at that title sequence. The entire show is like that.
Sadly, the show only lasted for thirteen episodes, and much of the drugs and sexual references from the Argentinian comic it was based off of were cut, along with a lot of the backstory.
If you have the time, I would definitely recommend checking this series out. Great animation, excellent voice acting, and a unique story make this one a winner.
