You are a really hateful human being, what I meant by "You're American" Was. You have a different biking culture, a vastly different one. Than most European nations, where its not just normal. But run-of-the-mill that kids take a bike to school, all the way down to 7 of age after they have learned how to behave in traffic. That is not so in America, few. If any kids gets taught proper safety on how to behave on bikes (They are lucky if they even get a class on how to act as a pedestrian) And 'that' was what I meant about you being American. Your people lacks education on the area, as such a lot of people are bound to simply be ignorant of the laws on the area and 'as such' its a lot more dangerous for everyone in traffic. Including Cyclists.TestECull said:Cheers!Suave Charlie said:To be honest it's the power plants and cows that appall me, coal plants in particular are like a big gaseous dickhead to the environment. Personally I'm more about performance than sound, if a hybrid car or even full electric etc (think the Tesla) can outperform an equivalent full petrol engine car then I know which one I'd be more interested in owning.
If it sounds like that I will buy it in a heartbeat. I don't care if it's the slowest, worst handling car ever to be sold to the public if that's the soundtrack to my daily commute.
It's simply impossible to sell me on an electric or hybrid. I just won't buy one. I'd rather walk or ride than buy one. They don't sound like that and they don't have manual transmissions, two absolute dealbreakers for me when buying a car. They shouldn't be on public roads. They have no business there. They're too young to know how to safely ride there and too small to easily see. They should stick to their yards.Nikolaz72 said:What about all the kids?Come back without this condescending bullshit and I might find it in my schedule to tell you just how wrong you are regarding the rest of your post. Until then, dealing with you would be stepping down several rungs, and I refuse to do that.No wait. You're American.
I will tell you that I don't see why bicycles get a free ride on so much. I have to carry insurance, I have to follow all these rules, why the fuck are cyclists exempt when they're on the same roads? They shouldn't be. They should have to carry liability insurance just like I do if they want to use the same roads, and they should have to follow the same rules I do. They shouldn't get a free pass because their vehicle lacks an engine.
And I'll give you the time of day when you go find where I suggested a pavement tax for walkers and joggers.Abandon4093 said:You also breath heavier whilst running, should we make a pavement tax for walkers and joggers?
I will say that I'd be for yanking the road tax if the budget funded the maintenance and repair of said roads from other sources.
But let me put it like this, the world wasnt made for cars. If you dont want them driving on the road, make them their own side-roads. It worked over here, it will work over there. Seriously.
