The suit of armor lay on the ground, one hand slightly raised with the large hole in it's breast plate. Slowly sparkling dust seemed to pour from the damage and the gaps in the armor and mail, dispersing into thin air. The large sword also began to disintegrate into the strange substance.

After a few moments all that remained was a brittle suit of armor, stuck in the same pose as if it had been left there untouched for years.

The team at the portal now had nothing standing between them and the building.

"I don't blame you Richard. You think you're doing the right thing. I can respect that. You know who else think's they're doing the right thing?"

Out of seemingly nowhere a man in a gas-mask arrived, and hit him in the face. It was strong enough for him get tossed over and landing on his back, losing the gun, it landing a few meters away. He was still awake, but his nose was bleeding harshly. "I guess this is why I usually shut up and do the easy thing." He thought of pretending the blow had knocked him out, but he sighted. If he had already gotten this far... The naked guy started taunting the guy in the gas-mask, and Richard used the opportunity to start crawling towards the gun, slowly, but out of reach for the others.

As the group went through the portal towards the base, what looked like a miniature sun came bursting through the sky, suddenly impacting on the ground. Isabelle could only get a brief look at what it was; an armoured person before she was sent flying through the air from the blast, crashing into a tree and knocking her unconscious. Her items had scattered themselves nearby. She was oblivious to the confrontation that was going on.

A while later, her dual coloured eyes flickered into life once more, and what she saw was a distressed Vayle.

"What... what the... what the hell happened?"

"Good heavens you're alive. I was so worried about you." Vayle said with happiness as tear rolled down her face as she hugged Isabelle tightly, glad to have her master back.

"Thank you Vayle, its good to see you too." Isabelle said with a smile as she returned the hug. After a while, she let go and stood up, going off to collecting her gear. With everything back in its place, and dusting herself down, she went to go find someone to explain what happened.

The fight had happened so quickly, one minute Eligor was being thrusted into the angel's sternum, the next it was just back to the plain old normal French countryside. Didn't ruin the fun though. Eligor hadn't come up against one of the celestials in a quite a while, but he was surprised at the ease in which the blade pierced her. That brought another thought to mind - did that slip of youth have a rage against the heavens? Heh. One thing that had eluded him over the centuries was the exact reason and purpose of his binding. Eligor had always chalked it done to a want for a trophy of a high class demon. But maybe there was something more to it than that? Thinking aside, didn't he have some gloating to do of his own?

"And that is that." Eligor remarked, eying the angel's corpse with a smug sense of satisfaction, "Angels - unwavering avatars of light and vengence. Never liked them, myself."

Eligor wondered whether they would all go back to base soon, after all the chip in the blade needed some repair work before it was aggravated in worst damage. Eligor may be stuck as in the vessel, but he didn't want to be stuck in the vessel of a broken sword. After all, it would pain him to be stuck in a completely useless state.

"You first."

"Hmm. Well if you insist"

Grimjow cracked his knuckles and neck, getting ready to come at the nude man. He found his lack of clothing strange. Did he always fight like this? Perhaps this is old Greek rules. If so, perhaps he should remove his clothing as well to make things fair.

The man stripped down to just his underwear and resumed his fighting stance. He ran at Kain with full speed lifted his leg for a kick to Kain's face.

As the two were fighting, Zorrama saw Richard going for the gun, and decided it was time for him to retreat. He crawled slowly for the stairs to the lab.

"This is the first time I've met one. Well...second. If you count...nevermind"

Isaac saw that Isabelle was now awake and coming over.

"Yo. How's it going?"

"Hmm. Well if you insist"
"Erm... The nudity isn't a requirement. This is rather awkward." Kain suppressed a laugh as he charged.
Kain sidestepped the kick, bringing his left arm underneath his knee making the man go horizontal, placing the right on his sternum and bringing the man down to earth with a loud crash. The arm that was on his sternum moved quickly to raise the mans chin as he brought his other hand down on his neck as hard as he could.

The masked guy stripped as well, and went into fighting position, so Richard took the chance to get the gun and stand up. In the corner of his eye he could see Zorrama crawling down the stairs, and used his somewhat useful ability to avoid getting hit -though, he had a feeling it hadn't helped him much that day- and followed him. By the end of the stairs, Richard had caught up. "Not yet." He then fired another shot, hitting Zorrama in the opposite shoulder from before. Richard did feel like he should go for the kill, but a feeling told him bad stuff would happen if he did.

Garath was confused, he didn't know who was on who's side, the angel they'd been attacked by looked to be Azkar, which made him unsure if this fight was a misunderstanding or whether or not they had encountered an enemy. After struggling with his confusion for a few moments he decided to sit back and watch the spectacle unfold. Concentrating he summoned a folding chair and a bag of peanut m&ms from his locker back at dice, sat back, and began snacking on them as the fight went on before him. It was over quickly and Azkar looked to be dead, although given the injuries she'd had in the past he doubted it.

"Let me know if I can help," he yelled through a mouthful of m&m's, as Isaac went to check on Isabelle, he felt a little bad that he hadn't noticed her collapse, but she seemed to be fine.

Grimjow put his hand up to catch the blow to his neck, though it merely cushioned the blow a fraction. He slowly attempted to push up and regain his footing. With the two men standing face to face, Grimjow pushed Kain's hand off his neck and threw a punch to his stomach.

"Not yet."

Zorrama felt a bullet go through his shoulder and stopped. He turned around and looked at Richard, still training the gun on him.

"Richard. What are you doing? Richard...stop"

Zorrama weakly raised his hand and fired an ectoplasmic bullet from his fingertip. The impact did little but graze Richard's gun hand, but it gave Zorrama enough time to get on his knees and get through the door to the lab.

"Yo. How's it going?" Isaac asked as Isabelle came into view.

"Aside from being thrown into a tree by a miniature sunburst that turned out to be someone in armour, and hurting in place that have seen pain before; I'm relatively okay now. Glad I ran into you though Isaac, since I was unconscious, could you explain to me what actually happened here. No doubt it'll have to go into the report at some point." Isabelle remarked with some strain as she began stretching to get some feeling back into her body. Her sword looked in reasonable condition, but would need a clean after today's events; whilst the whip looked fine.

Kain frowned,
'This is going to take awhile isn't it?' Kain caught the punch, and twisted his opponents arm behind his back, lifting his arm up higher and headbutting the back of his head in one fluid motion. He let him go and pushed him away, listening to the gunshots.

Grimjow made a low audible growl as he rubbed the back of his head.

"You are starting to be a nuisance. Your fighting skills may be better than mine. But I have an equalizer"

Grimjow took a deep breath in. His muscles began to constrict and become smaller, the size of an average human's. He lifted his mask just enough for his mouth to be free, and exhaled a plume of orange smoke that caught inside Kain's lungs.

With his opponent distracted, Grimjow ran at him again, this time raining a series of blows to his chest at half power.

"Well. You see that?" Isaac pointed over at the armor laying on the ground. "That would be an angel that was attacking us. It thought we were demons for some reason. How it confused a restless spirit with a demon is beyond me. But Aaron was able to finish it off alright"

"Richard. What are you doing? Richard...stop"

He then was hit a weird kind of bullet, that loosened his grip on the gun and it almost fell out of his hand. By the time he had trained it again, Zorrama was already inside the lab. Richard followed him, keeping the gun pointed at Zorrama when he saw him. "I don't get it, why would you struggle?" Richard asked, confused. "It would be easier to just give up, wouldn't it?" He tilted his head, as he realized that this person had something he seemed to lack. "Interesting... why are you really doing this? I know that you were a test-subject, so why do the same yourself?" His wound was healing, and he leaned over Zorrama. "I don't think I'm able to do off with you, anymore. You know something...? I feel bad for some reason, and I don't know why." He was honestly confused, not sure what feelings he were feeling. Richard didn't care about others, as long as he could do biology, and figure out the secrets DNA hid. This person was uninteresting in that aspect, but right now, something told him not to kill him, even if it would have bad consequences.

Zorrama couldn't move that well, but Richard didn't lower the gun, nor did he pull the trigger, he just stepped onto Zorrama's bloodstained coat, in order to keep him there.

"You are starting to be a nuisance. Your fighting skills may be better than mine. But I have an equalizer"
"I didn't know gas masks worked both ways." he managed to get out before getting hit. He blocked a few, but he took a majority of the blows.
'Shit, he's fast now.' Kain caught both of the now smaller mans fists, jumping up and placing both feet on his stomach and pushed with his legs, while pulling with his arms. With luck, he could tear the guys arms off, or they collapse and Kain could try to collapse his windpipe again. Kain smiled, maliciously.

"I don't think I'm able to do off with you, anymore. You know something...? I feel bad for some reason, and I don't know why."

"Don't feel bad Richard. You should never feel bad for the enemy. It only makes you second guess yourself"

Zorrama rolled onto his back and looked up. He had made it back to the big metal device at the center of the room, and looked up at it with a weak smile, crying from the pain he was in.

"I can't give up because this feels important. I guess it was from when I was still a human. My best friend was a man who would constantly fight monsters. Day in, day out. It was never ending struggle to protect us pathetic humans"

Zorrama looked away from the device and looked back at Richard.

"You know I couldn't have gotten all this myself. I have friends in high places. If I live here. I will make this dream happen. There's nothing left for you to do but end me. You know it's the only logical conclusion"

Grimjow knew he was in trouble. What Kain was doing could only end badly. He thought about it for a second, and then fell backwards, allowing his arms to come off.

When the blood from the tears hit the outside air, most of it began converting into the orange fumes. Grimjow's mask fell as he began to wither, and he grin as the chemicals around Kain began to suffocate him.

Kain would have to start moving.

Kain moved some of the remnants of his toga to his mouth, to filter the chemical and began jogging while holding his breath. He ran back to the door from memory, pushing Blight out of the way once more, bursting out and noticing Azkar.
"What the hell happened here?" He asked, in between coughs.

"I--I..." Richard muttered. He was hesitating, he didn't understand. Yet he did, somehow. For some reason, it made sense. He nodded, slowly. "Yes, it is. Letting you get caught by DICE or letting you escape... won't do anyone any good, it's not interesting for you, is it?" his hand wasn't shaking, but he felt sick, the kind of sick that's like a having a thousand pieces of ice inside you, the coldness burning your every inch. It was a feeling he couldn't remember having felt, but he thought of the hospital again, of the clock ticking too fast.

Richard pulled the trigger, and shot Zorrama in the head twice, making sure he was dead before going over to the metal device. What was it? Was this the real reason Zorrama hadn't given up? He examined it.

"What the hell happened here?" He asked, in between coughs.

"We were attacked by an angel, Isaac and Aaron defeated it," Garath said, standing up and dismissing his chair and bag of m&ms, "Why are you naked, whats going on in there?"

He recognized Kain, the two of them had worked together on a couple of missions in the past, though he couldn't say he knew much about the man. He did remember that he was a werewolf, which could partially explain the lack of clothing.

He saw some sort of orange smoke drifting out of the building, which decreased his desire to go in there even more, still he suspected that they would have to. After all this was the location mentioned in Zorama's notes, so he was probably here.

Kain sighed, and rubbed his temples,
"Far to much to explain. Looks like you killed Azkar. I tried to tell her to stop. Richard out here yet? Better yet, do any of you have any spare clothes?" He was glad to have fresh air again, but slightly disappointed that Azkar seemed to be dead. Still, she managed to survive having her legs cut off, and regrew them in days. She could make it through this, right?
'Right?'

The computer console that Richard had been on before automatically made a subtle alarm noise and the screen turned white with a pentagram in the middle. An electronic voice came out the other end.

Operator Zorrama's vital signals have ceased. Conditions for plan 2 emergency protocols have been reached.

The roof of the complex opened up, and a group of large needles descended down onto Zorrama's body and injected it with a green substance. It looked as though the process was making his body less solid.

A group of mechanical arms from the wall picked up the remains and raised them in the air above the machine. A series of saw and cutting tools tore away sections of his body and added them into the central machine.

When the only thing left of him was his skull, power surged through all of the test subjects in the lab, showing that all of them, demons and humans, had been alive the whole time. They to went through the process of injections and dissections, and were added to the central machine as well.

The moving parts of the device sprang to life and started producing something within its core. Bottles of stabilizing fluid were added to the mix and large amounts of heat radiated from it.

Soon, the process had been completed, and everything fell silent. The device spread in half, as if it were a mother giving birth. What stepped out was a being whose human looking skin was perfectly flawless. It's hair was pure white, instead of grey. And it's eyes glowed with a dark purple hue.

It looked at Richard with an emotionless expression, not seeing him as any sort of threat. It walked by him and looked around the lab, then at it's own hands.

"Human. You have done well this day. The work has been done. Yet more pieces of the circle must be complete. I leave you know. For there is work to be done elsewhere."

The being took one last look at Richard. It's face still showed no signs of emotion, but a single tear rolled down it's eye as it lifted it's hand and brought flames around itself. In a flash of hellfire, the beast was gone.
