Boring. Eliezer had expected something more interesting, something more flashy after the mystery man's abrupt ultimatum, but nothing had happened, not even a twitch. If he was dead all he had accomplished was wasting Eliezer's time, what a drama queen. However he had lost such a large of blood, enough to kill a normal human, and more was still leaking out from him. Something was keeping him alive, but what was the source? Was it magical, demonic or angelic? Only one way to find out.

Eliezer walked over to the cabinet where the drugs were kept and found what he was looking for - adrenaline.

"Wakey, wakey, rise and shine"

He injected the mystery man with the syringe, curious as to what he would find out when he awake.

"I haven't broken anything alive in a while, and the lab's starting to get uncomfortably familiar. I'll go with you."

"Excellent. Glad I've got you along," he said with a hint joy in his voice. "Right this way"

Zhang didn't bother waiting for the lift and lead Byron up the stairs to the garage. He took out a set of keys and pressed the unlock button. A black 2-door not too far away from them lit up, and Zhang got in the driver's seat. After going through all the monotony of getting everything cleared, he drive through a portal. They ended up in a populated area around an old street. No one seemed to give the car appearing out of nowhere any mind, and Zhang didn't look as if he minded the people being their.

After a few checks on the GPS, Zhang drove Byron down the road that lead to the huge church near the center of the city.

"I'm glad to hear that, maybe we can do this again sometime." Garath said after locating the waiter, who was on his way to collect their empty plates.

"I would be up for it, though it does kind of depend on the next instance where the both of us aren't doing anything." Isabelle remarked, though it kind of sounded like she was stating the obvious. She then took a moment to look and around the restaurant, noticing that the place was almost full.

"So, what do you think of the restaurant, has it been a pleasant experience for you?"

"So, what do you think of the restaurant, has it been a pleasant experience for you?"

"I think I'll have to come here again if I get the opportunity," Garath said, the waiter reached them and he ordered their dessert, then turned back towards Isabelle, "The service and the food were both great, I'm glad you chose this place."

He sat back and looked around, before looking back at Isabelle, "Of course I'm sure you've got plenty of interesting places for us to go in the future, provided we get the chance," he said, smiling.

"The service and the food were both great, I'm glad you chose this place." Isabelle smiled after hearing that, it felt good. In fact, this evening out was great.

"Well, I'm glad that it has left a good impression on you; this place is certainly better then the last time I came here, perhaps its just the company I'm with on this occasion. They do say a meal out is better when in the company of others." Isabelle remarked, hinting at Garath.

"Of course I'm sure you've got plenty of interesting places for us to go in the future, provided we get the chance." Garath said, smiling.

"I'm sure I can think of one or two places that might suit the occasion. Who knows what may happen in the future."

"Well I am looking forward to seeing them," Garath said, their waiter soon returned with the dessert as well as the bill, Garath got out his wallet and paid, he briefly considered simply using an illusion to make smaller bills look like larger ones, but decided against it, he had plenty of money for the dinner.

He thanked their waiter and turned back to Isabelle and the dessert, he let her take the first bite, then took one for himself, he thought it was quite good.

"What do you think of the dessert?" he asked, "I think you chose well myself."

Mission File...
Jean sighed. He'd never like disappearances on the newspaper. They almost always had bad endings. Not a single one he had worked on had turned out happily. Of course, he rarely got assigned to happy stories.
He sighed again.

"Let us go, then. I need a pistol." he said, and turned and headed for the armory with long, easy strides.

He couldn't shoot to save his life- literally- but his editor had always insisted he carry a pistol. After over a decade carrying one, he never felt safe without it. An H&K USP Compact. He had fired a grand total of two bullets outside of training, and neither had hit. He hadn't wanted them to hit, of course. He abhorred violence. He just needed to intimidate people occasionally. And he felt safer with a pistol at his side.

The blood had been in the parasite business for generations and consequently it mastered the ability to warp time and space. It had all of eternity to break its host, while only milliseconds would pass in real life. Once inside, there was no distinguishing real time, real space or even real life. It was all a fantasy, and eventually that fantasy became reality. The question "is this the real life?" became "this is the real life." The blood was always learning, and with Danny it learnt that simple pain would not sway some people. It took a different approach, and almost found success if it wasn't for its desire to see Danny to break and shatter into a million pieces inside his own mind. All that would be left of Danny was a single drop of blood. A drop of blood that contained everything about him that was locked away in the dark side of his mind as an observer. Seeing himself do horrendous things and being unable to stop himself. When the blood tired of Danny, it would further lock him away.

All he could do was exist in a world of red as a part of the blood. He would be doomed to a fate worse than death, to live for all of eternity.
Once Danny was further locked away, he would start the slow and agonizing process of becoming one with the blood. Fragments of his mind would join the blood, building upon the blood's wealth of personalities it stole and consumed. The truth was, the blood was an amalgamation of hundreds of hosts. Its current personality was the mix of mainly two hosts, a suave, talkative demon and a corrupt priest of chaos. Its origin is unknown. Despite having masses of minds stored away, the blood rarely let them out and wonder. By wonder, the blood meant explore its ultimate fantasy. The blood never imagined the heaven he provided could be the downfall of a potential host. The more you know, it chuckled.

Danny's demise was coming, and after the blood was done with its body -relative to its long life-span it wouldn't take very long- he would be stuck in a comfortable Oblivion.
With this in mind, the blood let the sand flow at a faster rate. Danny was now sinking into another whirlpool, one that had originated deep below. He could feel the flow, but wasn't being dragged in yet. He desperately grabbed onto the falling sand to no avail. Millions of grains were sliding past Danny, down his clothes and into his body. He turned to his arms and noticed the burns were gone. He would have stared for longer if he hadn't suddenly entered a falling motion. Even now, he tried to hold onto the sand. Above him was the sun, in all its glory and light. Beneath was the abyss, in all its horror and darkness. As long as he could look up, he did not mind. The sensation itself was comfortable anyway. Was this free-falling?

Whatever it was it felt good, like paradise.
Was this the final? The end? The drawing of the curtain to my life? Am I doomed to stay here forever, falling from paradise into the great abyss but never quite being in either? It was torture; it was the longest wait. I had accepted my fate, I had even enjoyed it. But I never meant to stay here forever, I only wanted to enjoy the moment while it lasted. A pleasure experienced for eternity in oblivion moved quickly from paradise into hell. It would take a snap of the mind, one small pessimistic thought that would leave the fortress that was my mind in ruins. At this point, there is nothing I can do. I would rather be happy in a vegetative state than become insane here.

I am Danny Trayne, and I think I will stay he-
Danny jumped. He looked down at his arms to see them still in their previous condition, burned to the muscle. He winced as the pain returned and all the other feelings of being alive. Truly alive, in the real world. He had returned, but how? As his vision returned from a blur, he noticed the man he talked to earlier. He didn't feel any different, and he could move his body which meant he hadn't lost. But once again, how? He clenched his fists as a surge of pain went through his arms, even greater than before. A stream of blood expunged itself from Danny, spraying into the walls and unfortunately on the man's suit. Danny uncontrollably twitched, unable to stop himself from staying still due to the immense torrent of blood. Danny released his grip after the bleeding stopped. He felt cleaner, but something was still bugging him. As far as he knew, the blood was all gone. After all, it was on the wall.

Danny then yelled "man and his slave!" to the man and fell from the table onto the floor. He was free, and despite his injuries, Danny gapped the scene. He didn't want to be in the same room, let alone the same place, as the blood. He soon found out, however, it wasn't going to be easy as the door was locked. While Danny tried to open it, the blood came together and formed a stick-like figure. It resembled a human, albeit a very thing and liquid-y human. Despite being a single figure, the blood writhed and wriggled and never stayed still. All along the body various parts of the blood extended itself out like tendrils and tentacles, and like blood in a body it moved around in a cyclic manner. Its 'head' turned to Danny and it hissed, forming and opening a mouth, "what did you do to meeee?" The voice that shrilled at Danny did not resemble anything like the blood before. This was undoubtedly the blood at its purest form.

After closing its mouth, it formed an axe with its arm and slashed at Danny. Even though it wasn't going to hurt, he assumed anyway, contact would result in it trying to take Danny over again. That was the last thing Danny wanted to happen and so he lifted himself up and began running around the medical bay, screaming 'security!' like a little girl.

The mystery man awoke and to Eliezer's annoyance he had sprayed blood all over his new and suit he was just a normal man, useless. However the blood like creature that had ejected itself from the man's veins was a different story; nothing so hideous could be angelic, those conceited angels prided themselves on the so called beauty they created, that only left two options. The man was starting to agitate him though, running around the room like a headless chicken shouting for security. He was getting at the end of his tether, he got out the key to the door and swiftly opened it.

"Now, would you shut up, I'm trying to think" he shouted at the man, hoping he would leave.

As soon as the door unlocked, Danny jumped at its general direction. He fell, but the pain he felt was incomparable to the things the blood would subject him to if he was caught again. He exited the room but realized that it could take the man as a host-age. Danny grabbed the man and pulled him out with him, dodging a spray of blood the blood-figure threw in Danny's general direction. It hit the wall, screamed and threw itself again to Danny. This time, it hit Danny's chest and almost winded him. After recovering from the impact, it turned into something that could only be described as a mad scientist's rendition of a spider. Danny then grabbed it only for it to slip out and crawl towards his face.

Danny continued to scream for help.

While all of these things were happening. Azkar fell through a hole in the floor in her room, to another mystical magical dimension of happiness and stuff. A realm so wonderful... She never returned.

The end.

Byron Kelspring

"Right this way"

The masked man began to walk towards the stairs and motioned for Byron to follow. Byron called for the man to halt, "Wait one second", as he quickly ducked into his room and put on a dark brown vest and leather duster on before continuing to follow the man up the stairwell. Tucking a case roughly the size of a cigarette case into his vest pocket, Byron stepped around to the passenger's side of the car and got in with the masked man. After they drove through a portal and wound up on the other side, Byron gave an unnoticed snort at the irony that their magically appearing car was being largely unnoticed by the population. After navigation through the population center and winding up heading towards a large church, Byron silently took in the sight. He had always appreciated grand cathedrals and valued the effort poured into them by both their designers and their builders, even if their usage was not optimal.

"Well I am looking forward to seeing them." Garath said as their waiter soon arrived with the dessert, as well as the bill. Isabelle thought about wanting to at least pay some of it, as a 'thank you' gesture to Garath for taking her out to dinner; but it seemed like he wouldn't have any of it. She soon took the first bite, followed by Garath.

"What do you think of the dessert?" Garath asked. "I think you chose well myself."

"Why thank you, brownies are on of my favourite cakes, they remind me of the ones that my mother makes. Then again, I've always had a soft spot for chocolate as a whole." Isabelle said with a smile as she took another bite, this time mixing it with some of the ice cream. Both flavours worked well, with the ice cream simply melting in her mouth.

"Mmmh, thats... thats really nice."

"Mmmh, thats... thats really nice."

Garath smiled, glad that Isabelle was enjoying herself, he was feeling pretty full after his meal so he left most of the dessert for her, when she was finished he stood and waited for her to do so as well, offering his hand if she wanted him to help her get up, again he knew that she wouldn't he had drunk more than her, but it seemed like the right thing to do.

Once they had left the resturant he looked for an empty alleyway or someplace equally empty so that he could use the portal device, he found a spot and got out the device.

"So I hope you had a good time," he said, he smiled "Wonder what some of the others back at base will think."

He leaned in towards her, and kissed her, he hoped he didn't surprise her too much with it, or that she didn't consider it too much.

Isabelle had the rest of the dessert, Garath saying he was rather full from his main meal. After she was done, Garath got up and offered his hand to Isabelle, she smiled as she accepted this kind gesture. The couple soon left the restaurant, after giving a friendly goodbye and headed towards a quiet spot so they could head back to the base.

"So I hope you had a good time" Garath said smiling as he was setting the portal device. "Wonder what some of the others back at base will think."

"I don't know, since not many of them have seen us all dressed up like this; perhaps we can sneak in." Isabelle remarked, but before she could continued, Garath leaned in closer to her and gave Isabelle a kiss on the cheek. This made her blush rather profusely; she'd never really been kissed before, at least like this. Isabelle then smirked as she put an arm around Garath.

"You know Garath, you can be such a gentleman at times." Isabelle remarked with a grin that was not like her usual self.

"Anyway, lets get back to the base now." They both then stepped through the portal, and arrived back at the base. Before anyone who was there could noticed, Isabelle removed her arm from around Garath; didn't want anyone else to be getting ideas about the two of them.

"Once again Garath, thank you for a wonderful evening."

"Once again Garath, thank you for a wonderful evening."

Garath smiled, "It was my pleasure," he said, she had taken her arm off of him, likely not wanting anyone at base to start to gossip, and he took a step away from her, he considered using an illusion to make her look like she was still wearing her usual clothes, but he wasn't sure how she would feel about that so he didn't.

"Right then, I suppose you should probably go find Vayle, she might be wondering where you went," he said, then he held up the portal device "I've got to go return this."

He turned and started to walk off to take the device to where it belonged, he would probably call it a night afterwards, try and get some sleep.

She had giggled. That wasn't good sign, but neither were the slaps. But Lucy had said was true, they did have a lot to talk about, occurrences new and old for one. Not to mention the fact that the two had not talked for hundreds of years. And here they stood, between an intricately carved obsidian table with lava forming through the cracks. Look closely enough and you could see slivers of horned face in-between, representing the major demons of Hell and their place. Some were marked with scratches, others were blemish-free. Eligor looked among the faded faces for his own, between the celebrated archer and Great Marquis, Leraje, and his fellow Great Duke Bathin. The very one who shared his furious fervor and the very same who taught him him the art of astral projection, respectively. His own portrait was cracked, possibly from neglect.

But enough about the table. In the circle of the seven and one chairs, stood Lucifer. The Prince of Pride. Best to keep her waiting as she - no - they both had waited for this moment for long enough already. However, like the cracks in the portrait, Eligor realised that he was a demon divided. Divided between his liege lord and D.I.C.E., the choice seemed so easily five hundred years ago. But, now, not so much. Whatever the case, Eligor was on rocky ground.

He decided to feign confidence by being direct, "Let's not dally then. Enough time has been wasted."

"On the contrary, I have found that the time was spent quite productively." She smiled.

"That is the past, this is the present." He replied dismissively, "Speaking of which, what of now?"

"Same as always ever since that opportunity was taken advantage of." She said, maintaining the smile, "Now another one has appeared."

His eye widened, "Care to elaborate?"

She giggled again, walked over from the other end of the table, and pointed a finger directly at Eligor, "Why, you of course." She lent in, whispering words into the boy's ear, "Now that I finally have you back." She turned around again and traced the markings on the boy's face, her eyes glazed - unreadable, as if she were in her own little world, surrounding herself in her own little schemes. Eligor looked up into those eyes and found unshakable confidence - Lucy's own little trademark.

She lent back, and walked away, back to the chair at the opposite end and settled into it. She continued with her little speech there, "It appears that you have been cursed as so many demon have before you." Lucy paused to look into the distance, to the bodies bound to the inner walls. Strangely, only one was in chains that gnawed the wrist of the poor soul who was stuck there. In contrast to the dull, bloody walls, they glowed with a faint light. Maybe she was reminded of something? But Eligor wasn't sure. She turned back to him, "It also appears that you have made connections which could be of use to me." With a sudden, Lucy stood and placed her hands over the sword, "And I am definitely going to take advantage of them. Now, if you don't mind..." Something wriggled within the mass of muscle that accompanied the eye and erupted, forming faint horn-like bumps on the eye.

With a burst of darkness, a portal was formed and Lucy forced Eligor into it with a swift kick. Satisfied, she poured herself a glass of red wine from the drinks cabinet and giggled. D.I.C.E. was up to something and now she would find out what. It was only a matter of time...

"Right then, I suppose you should probably go find Vayle, she might be wondering where you went." Garath said as he held up the portal device "I've got to go return this." Garath then turned and started to walk off to take the device to where it belonged.

"She probably has knowing her, though I hadn't seen her since the seance; maybe she found something else about herself and has gone to research for anything relevant. Anyway, if I don't see you again, I shall say good night to you Garath." Isabelle said with a solitary wave of her hand. After seeing Garath off, Isabelle decided to return to her quarters for the night, and get some much needed rest.

Upon arrival, Isabelle saw that the room was empty; with Richard obviously regaining conscious at some point during the evening, and no sign of Vayle. Her coat was laid out somewhat neatly on the chair, and closer examination showed the letter had been taken.

Good, lets just hope he keeps up to his end of the deal; though I wouldn't of told either way, its not in my nature to betray friends. I wonder where Vayle has gone to. Think I'll just sit in the chair until she returns. Isabelle said as she got herself comfy within the tall leather armchair that sat beside her desk, and began to wait.

In the middle of his musings Eliezer was once again interrupted by the mystery man and tugged but the sleeve of his jacket, getting more of the man's blood on it no less, out of the medical bay and into the corridor outside. Their bloody assailant followed in pursuit, launching itself at the man and morphing into some sort of spider like thing. So far it's only success was creating a mess and ruining Eliezer's suit, other then that it was failing spectacularly at trying to get back into what Eliezer assumed was it's host.

He wasn't obliged to help the fellow, but if he didn't that would only cast further suspicions on him and ruin his plans for revenge. If he did help him, then people would wonder why he so out of characteristically did something out of the goodness of his heart.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't, eh? Well there was one certainty, once this was all over they man owed him a new suit. But how to go about combating such a creature, Eliezer couldn't exactly harm something made from blood, bullets would be useless and he couldn't exactly shoot it right now anyway as it was busy trying to force itself back into the man. Ah ah!

"Hey, wouldn't you prefer a more durable host. Humans break so easily, I mean look at his arms, that sort of host won't do at all" He said casually leaning against the wall, "I for one, don't break at all."

The blood stopped, inches away from his face. The man's sudden announcement had, at the very least, made the blood reconsider. Miliseconds turned to seconds, and then it jumped away from Danny back to the figure. It stared at the man, despite lacking eyes, and raised its weapon. Danny couldn't let such a thing happen; no one deserved this kind of pain. Danny pulled himself up and launched himself at the demon only for him to sink through and fall. The blood-figure hissed at Danny and turned back to the man. By the time it had turned back, the man had left the room. The blood screamed and left the room as well. Danny followed suit.
