Damn Insects.....

Not nearly an infestation, but I've had a few encounters with Japanese cockroaches. These bastards are surprisingly fast for their rather large size.

Good Lord, you poor bastard. I take it this is somewhere in the US of States? Here in England I get like a spider a summer, and even then I usually just make friends with it and help it evade my insect-killing brother and sister, and pretend its like a arthropod version of Ann Frank....

Argh! Scary bugs!

I once went cycling with a friend, then when he stopped and looked at me, he saw that I was being followed by a swarm of insects of all shapes and sizes. A quick examination of him yielded similar results

It took all of our effort to get away from them, and we only managed it by racing down a hill and staying away from bushes. I still don't know what attracted them...

Well we had a birdhouse at the end of our garden that was home to some bluetits, but then a wasp infestation moved in and they built a bike around it (which looks rather scary awesome) :/ garden became rather dangerous so we had to go out and exterminate them. One stung me on the eyelid, it really fucking hurt. But we got them, and now the little birds can live in peace

Our old house always got infested with ants every summer, and we had to have our house bug bombed once after my dog and my cat both had fleas.

There's a hive of citronella ants that lives under my parents' breezeway. They swarm around the wooden stoop every year or two but only for a day. More of a nuisance than anything.

Does anyone know why Termites lose their wings when they land on the Cover for Cars? You know, the Carpet Thing? Forhot it's name right now, i'll post a pic as well..

I don't know about the car cover thing, but my understanding about termites (based on something I read in a book, not to be taken as a reliable source) is that they grow wings in order to mate, and once they do so their wings fall off.
I also notice that in the image the car cover is white, I know a lot of insects are attracted to white things as they reflect light.

As for my own bug problems, I hate ants... well I have nothing against them actually, until they enter my house. Even then I can get over it... until they touch my desk, then its personal. The only issue is that the little black ones we get smell bad when you squish them.

I have to say I find insects both interesting, annoying and creepy at the same time so I partly agree with you.

OT: In my old house there was a small area next to the stairs, one year some wasps decided to make a nest there, to this day I've had a hatred/fear of wasps >.<

In my current house we seem to have a yearly minor infestation of daddy long legs, they don't bother me much but they are one of my cat's favourite foods.

When I was two, I think, we lived in a place that was infested with carpenter beetles, ants, and a host of other bugs. Needless to say, we did not live there long, and I lost a lot of plush toys because of the bugs.

I had wasp in my house a few days ago.Rather worrying considering how early in the year it is.

Anyways, yeah that totally sucks. Maybe you should go down to a hardware store and buy about 50-60 bug bombs and just anihilate the fuck out of them.

Nah, never anything that severe. Various critters come in and out of the house, and sometimes the population spikes depending on the time of year (right now it's mayflies, later it'll be June bugs, then probably millipedes) but never anything "infesting" like termites.
I usually just put 'em outside - I don't like killing anything unless it's harmful or I'm going to eat it. (Termites definitely fall in the "harmful" category.)

Although for a couple of years after we first moved in we had a lot of scorpions. I stopped counting at 200. Surprisingly, I think only my mom and I were stung, one time each (I was actually stung twice, but in quick succession by the same scorpion.) They seem to have mostly learned their lesson, and now we only see one or two a year.
