My generation has put me in an awkward position 'cos almost no-one shares my tastes in music. Like, no-one, well some people but my school has no respect for some actual GOOD music not people swearing a lot or screaming very loud into a microphone. I like David Bowie, the only time I listened in Chapel it convinced me that David Bowie is the one and only king, he is just awesome. I like Pink Floyd, their Techno-Rock stuff is just moving, only two songs have moved me to tears before. First was Under Pressure, the second being Learning to Fly. Very moving songs. In teach one tome a year 10 who spends his double free's with our tech and he played Shine On you crazy diamond. Know what everyone replied "Turn it off, this music is so depressing. And I'm like (in my head)WTF? This is SUPPOSED to be depressing it's music with a message. A message that isn't "have sex with me" or "Life sucks so much." I also the like the Beatles, the only band I can really share in common with anyone is Muse. Does anyone else share my views? What do you think about this? Is Brittany Spears to blame by making the late 90's and early 00's all about pop? OmegaCheese OUT! May the king be with you!
BTW, I don't listen, 'cos I'm an aethiest. One of the very few in Year 8
