Right, so my cat caught a baby squirrel somehow. Didn't kill it or injure it (from what we could see) but it tossed it up in the air a few times thinking it was a playtoy.
We got the cats inside (my mom freaked out about rabies and everything) but the squirrel is just sitting there on the lawn curled up in a ball and making no attempt to get up into a tree.
I'm pretty sure squirrels arel ike birds, touch it and the adults won't take it back. Plus for all I know the thing could be badly injured. My mom doesn't want to take care of it but felt bad about leaving it there.
I suggested putting the thing out of its misery, grabbing a hammer and, you get the general idea, but my mother won't have it and refuses to let me because she feels that the idea is crazy, psychotic, cruel, etc.
Any suggestions?
