So because of all the hype about Civ 5 I started playing Civ 4 again. This was my first game in months, so I put it on the easiest difficulty, my favorite map, and strapped in for an easy fun game. I (of course) started out dominating, I was rich, vastly advanced in tech and military and quickly dispatched of my two close neighbors. I expanded to the point that I had control over an eighth to a quarter of the map. I was preparing my military for another war, this time, to kill De Gualle simply because it annoyed me that a barbarian settlement he took over was really close to me and he just wouldn't sell. I wasn't paying much attention to the fact that Julius Cesear and Sitting Bull were having some election, I didn't care, I could kill them. Then I get a big notification that I, the guy with all this advanced shit, more cities than anyone else, 10 million citizens and basically friends with everyone else, had lost because Cesear won a Diplomatic Victory. I had major rage, so I rage quitted Civ 4 only to find myself 4 hours later(4 hours that were wasted because of JC's stupid "diplomatic" victory) starving and angry....
Damn you Civ, why must you be so addicting?
You guys got any stories, similar experiences?
Also, whats your longest time playing a Civ game in one sitting? Mine is about 6 or 8 hours if I remember right.
