So, I just got RROD for the 2nd time on my xbox(more like 4ish times, but a few times it somehow fixed itself) and the last time the xbox was still under warantee. This time it isn't and I thought if it is their fault (I marked the xbox i sent them, and it didn't have the mark when it came back, so I assume they sent me someone elses refirbished xbox) can I get it fixed again. If not are their any reliable tricks that you suggest (I have heard of a few like the towel trick, but most of them seem to have big problems with them.)

I'm pretty sure your warranty doesn't cover that... Sorry.
My xbox is on it's first RROD, but it's been preowned and the sticker was broken so it's not under warranty. I'm using this tutorial, and it's really simple. [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsz0lNJ6JrQ[/link]
Hope it helps.

Microsoft will fix the RRoD regardless of warantee, won't they? It was the single greatest hardware failure in gaming history: they take extreme measures for it.

By fixing the heat sync I stopped my RROD.
Of course, I'd just send it in, and pay the fee.
Or find a shady character and have him fix it.

I hear they fix xboxes outside the warranty time all the time, just don't break the sticker and you're good

Don't do the towel trick, it fuck it up.

But you can fix it yourself...

take it apart, get rid of the x-clamps and replace them with screws and metal/rubber washers. And reapply the thermal paste to the chips under the heatsinks. before u put it back togather plug all the cords back in,leave the fans unpluged, and let it get really hot (it usally takes a few min. to heat up), then let it cool down. put it back togather and it should work. Mine redrings evry few mounths, just reapply the thermal paste if it happens.

^that is from an older post of mine, now my 360s finally dead for good :( but you should still try that.

Where is this sticker located? Do I need the 360 box, because I believe the last time I had it fixed they kept the box.

The sticker is an internal thing for Microsoft to make sure the unit wasn't opened and tampered with. The only way to find it is if you opened it, which is what you DO NOT want to do. You don't need the 360 box, just contact MS and they should send you a box free of charge to mail back to them, free of charge. They should tell you over the phone if you're eligible but I'm sure if you tell them the problems you've had they'll help you out.

You can send it in and pay money for repairs

You know like a normal person

Or you could try a trick, demolish you xbox

Buy a new Xbox or PS3, and spend 3 times what you did on repairs

Sounds fun!
