Hi there, this is my first (real) thread.

It is being written because I am on a caffeine rush and need something to do. I don't normally drink coffee, maybe have the odd cup every month or so when I need a pick me up to get me going on my work. I have been dared (won't bother you with details) and I accepted, the dare was to drink an absurdly strong cup of coffee with a stupid amount of sugar in it. I am 22 and my mug of a mate is 21, buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Damn it all, who says buzzzzzz while typing buzzzzz? Apparently I do, and for no reason at all. The writing or the saying.

Anyway, I would not have made this if not for the rush, I also feel that this is merely the beginning of what I can achieve. Do not be surprised if tomorrow some random bloke from England has solved the energy crises.

For discussion sake, have you guys ever had an epic caffeine rush? How long did (the fucker)/it last? Ever do something you wouldn't have done normally?

Ahhhrg too many questions, they're flowing out of me like a river of possibilities channeled by a go get 'em attitude.

...

I'll stop there, go!

No, never had anything like that. I seem to be completely desensitised to the effects of caffeine. Probably caused by drinking tea pretty much instead of water my entire life, I can easily get through the better part of a gallon of the stuff a day.

I stay away from coffee and energy drinks, even when I have to start work at 7:00. I'm tough like that.

I get buzzes like that from adrenaline. I remember an epic wallclimbing lesson in PE class. I was climbing the most difficult wall but at one point I couldn't put my legs anywhere (they were too long). So I had to jump up to the next point, which I did, but I hung there with only one hand grasping on.

And then I fell. Biggest rush I ever felt, I shouted out loud how awesome that was. The whole rest of the day at school I was jumping around and couldn't shut up about it. SO AWESOME!!!

I too drink tea religiously, it's part of the reason for the dare. I'd just boiled a kettle and that triggered my mates devious and sadistic brain. I much prefer tea to coffee.

Heh, he's 'ard!
Adrenaline buzzes like that are awesome, one of the best experiences of life is a strong adrenaline rush.

I drink ALOT of tea but occasionally I like to have the odd mega coffee. Seriously the coffee I make has the granuals up to the middle of the cup and even more sugar, I've once been up for three days straight after drinking it :p

A super strong cup of coffee? my morning brew is more like a condensed soup rather than a cup of coffee. Extra coffee, Extra cream, Extra sugar, minimal amount of water, its awesome :D.

Aye, that's what this coffee was, first time I've ever had anything like it, brain is thinking about things waaaay too fast. I seriously hope this doesn't last too long, I mean the lightspeed thoughts are fun, but I'm jittery as fuck.

I prove this theory, I hardly ever drink coffee and I'm six foot five. Scientific proof :D
That said, I drink tea constantly so...hmm...without the tea I'd be over seven foot obviously, theory still true :D

BAH!!! Being hyper from coffee is nothing compared to drinking an entire 12 pack of Mountain within just a few hours. I'm surprised there isn't broken walls from all the hyperness produced by me.

I was born with a Camel cigarette in one hand and a Seattle coffee in the other. I seriously think I'll overdose before I ever get another buzz.

I rarely drink coffee, only if I'm extremely tired when I wake up for school or if I'm trying to pull an all nighter.

I have yet to have more than a sip of coffee in my lifetime. They made us have a sip in Grade 1 to show us what taste buds were, and it made me barf. I'm not trying it again, and I don't need to. I get up just fine in the morning.

I have also never finished an energy drink, as I've never seen the need to drink them.

I'm currently on the second cup of coffee. I brew my own black as tar and drink it that way.

I've only really had that epic rush from coffee once, during my law exam. My hands were shaking so badly, I could hardly write my essay on why the supreme court is a pile of useless and should be disbanded for the rampant protection of criminals. It was awesome, needless to say. I've never had the same rush again.

I drink coffee a lot, doesn't give me much of a buzz. Never really did. Keeps me awake though.

I remember having an espresso and some diet coke one morning just to see what would happen. Suffice to say, I became damn near catatonic. I also went to go to the bathroom a lot.

Too much caffeine is miserable for me, I end up feeling like I want to run for 10 miles and curl up and sleep at the same time. I do love coffee though, so this happens quite frequently when I get my 5th free refill and forget to make it decaf.

I really hate coffee myself. I only ever drink it when I have to pull all nighters for uni assignments. I fill about 2/5 of the cup with instant coffee, half water and half milk. It will keep me up over 24 hours but has diminishing effects.

I once stayed up for 96 hours straight. By the final night it took 4 cups of terrible terrible coffee to keep me awake though. I find that after around that long amount of caffeine can keep me awake.

This has more to do with the fact that extreme tiredness makes me incredibly cold. I've worn several jumpers in the middle of what was apparently a boiling hot day but couldn't get warm at all.

But um on topic, I think that since the coffee I make is so terrible the amount of effort drinking it requires saps me of my will to live negating the effects you mentioned. That or because I only drink it when I have 4 1000+ essays to do in 2 days. That's also pretty disheartening.
