If they were really creative and could make it something other than hack'n'slash, I'd love to see Purgatorio and Paradisio. They'd be amazing.

If they were really creative and could make it something other than hack'n'slash, I wouldn't even mind seeing inferno.

But as is, the game looks like pure, disrespectful, crap.

*shakes fist at sky* Noooo! Why does every game these days have to have one or two follow-ups?

They're really taking liberties with the source material to make, as Indigo said, a rip-off God Of War.

That seems to me like making a game out of Ulysses or something. But crazier things have been done.
Name one.
A Spy vs. Spy game.
At least it was reasonably loyal to its source material.
Yeah - the strips were designed to give about 5 seconds of entertainment, and the game was too.

Wasn't it Yahtzee who said that establishing a game as a trilogy before the first one is out is asking for trouble?

It's an EA-published game, are we really that surprised to hear talk of sequels for it before it's even released yet? That desperate publicity stunt with the paid bible-thumpers at E3 alone speaks volumes for how desperately they want this game to sell. :/

I'm waiting for the Novel to come out like Halo and Gears of War.
This.

It's the first thing I've seen in the past 10 minutes that made me lol.

Wow, the game isn't even out yet and they are already planning sequels...

I think people are expecting this game to suck. Everyone should just read the book...

...it's been around forever

The original one on the Commodore 64 was pretty good. It had two player versus split screen. Trouble was the person you were playing against could see where you were laying your traps (if they weren't busy setting their own).

All you guys complaining about how Inferno is nothing like Inferno - I was with you at the beginning, but at this point I think the adaptation is so loose that there's barely even anything to criticize anymore. It's just a completely different entity from the poem, there's no point in getting bothered over the fact that it's "butchering" Dante.

I just can't see how you could even stretch things so far to make something out of Purgatory or Heaven - that seems to me like making a game out of Ulysses or something. But crazier things have been done.
But done well? The Spy VS Spy excluded.

How do you even make a game (unless it's adventure/puzzle solving) of a guy getting a tour of hell and it's punishments for people with different sins? Considering the guy isn't even aggressive and is allowed to leave at the end?

I mean, any game made of the Divine Comedy would have only superficial resemblance to the actual books.

Cart. Horse. Before.

Words that came to me when reading this article. Perhaps it could be called "Too Human Syndrome."
