Yeah yeah probably a million threads already. Use the search function moron! Wrist slapped etc etc.
Spoilers.
So, on with the post. I have questions. I googled and found a lot of threads/blogs/etc with people moaning about "plot holes" that seemed, to me, fairly inconsequential compared to the questions I was left with at the end of the film. Maybe you have the answers? Let's see.
1. What was Tate and Bane's (TnB hereafter) plan? I mean at the start, before everything happens, what was their master plan? Did they want to blow up Gotham using a fusion reactor that they don't even know exists? And they were going to get the police out of the way by luring ALL of them into the sewers by... wait, how did they know that ALL of the police would be sent down there at that exact moment?
2. How does Daggart and the whole plan to take down Wayne Enterprises figure into it? From T&B's perspective what did that achieve?
3. WHY did T&B want to blow up Gotham? Didn't T say she hated her father? She hated him... so she decided to finish his work. Am I missing something here?
4. Who was Bane? The person we thought he was turns out to be Tate, leaving Bane as this totally unexplained guy with no background, no motive, and no apparent means of eating. Again, am I missing something here?
5. Catwoman. God where do I even start. Why does Bruce Wayne need her again? He saves her life near the start. Why? How did he know where she was? He asks for her help later on. Why? Does he need her to steal something for him? Nope, he just thinks a babe in high heels might turn the tide in the coming battle... is that right?
6. Wait... why are we having a big battle? Isn't Batman the master of stealth? So much so that he feels the need to light up a big bat sign to warn the bad guys and make things interesting, otherwise it'd presumably be just too easy or something. But I digress. Isn't the plan to stop the bomb going off? And the big battle helps how exactly?
That's enough for now. The "minor" things like Bruce Wayne's miraculous healing powers, Batman's ability to get back into Gotham, Blake's astounding powers of deduction, Bane's remarkable ability to convince millions of people to believe total nonsense in one speech, etc etc, that stuff doesn't bother me as much as the stuff above.
Spoilers.
