Dark Souls 360-PC, people cheat?

So I heard there have been people who edit their 360 saves on Pc and then transfer them back because they can use an editor and alter stats....is this true? I imagine this would ruin everything.

Yep, it's true.
You'll find hackers on the PS3 as well, but far fewer than on the Microsoft platforms.

I just use humanity if I want to kindle a bonfire or the rare occasions of wanting help for a boss fight. I personally don't play the game for PvP purposes and have no problem with others doing that because of this playstyle. I can see that it might be annoying if you play it with PvP in mind. Still, even without cheating, you can give pretty kickass gear to a low level char without any cheating.

This is why I hate Dark Souls, too many hackers/exploiters.

GFWL, and the fact you can't opt-out of having random players come in and kill you is why I just don't bother playing anymore. The only way I could play was to never use humanity, which made the game way more difficult than necessary.

You could always sign out. No one can invade you if they can't connect to you.
Or at least that's what I'd do on the PS3. I don't know how an Xbox works.

It's not so easy on PC, "signing out" effectively means turning off my internet. I'm sure there's some patch out there but I just gave up trying.

There are exploits far beyond that, and in any case people will only ever invade you when they are far out of your league and attack when you aren't looking... so if you go online expect ganking from all parties.

Yeah, after the first three people to invade me instantly slaughtered me I signed out of Xbox live. Still enjoy the game a ton but I'm not doing the whole multiplayer thing.
