So, not a long time ago I asked for help to voice an animation that I was doing (the user Fimmfingur did the voice). I now started to work on the next episode but that one wont need voices (the third episode will but that will still take some time so I'll ask for help later).

What I am looking for now is for you guys to tell me what you think of it, I do know that I have to improve some things and I will list them below.

PS: This "series" (I will probably only do 3 episodes) is about those annoying things in games, in this case with Dark Souls, the Ceaseless Discharge Boss.

So the things that I am trying to improve are:
-fluid animation
-better script with a more focus on "funny" then just coming off as a rant
-STOP being so lazy (ugh)
-faster pace
-avoid re-using frames so much

The things that are ok (at least they seem ok to me, if you disagree tell me):
-the sound management
-the sets
-(considering this was the first time that I made an animation with a humanoid character) the key-frames look alright (although I am still going to improve them)

Hope you like it and tell me what you think :)

Well i love the idea of highlighting "that one thing" in games that always makes us ragequit, it's a popular and common trope particularly with bosses and you see a lot of it in TvTropes. It was genuinely funny at parts, especially when he changed gear, got a hit in, and saw it did little damage. Then got instakilled again, and the Skyrim bit at he end definitely got me laughing from how unexpected and yet predictable it was.

However a couple things - firstly that Ceaseless Discharge is a very easy boss, even without the fall-down-pit exploit. He's very slow and you can simply kite then smash his arm since he can't track you to hit where you will be rather than where you are currently, so it might make people a bit puzzled as to why you found this to be your 'one thing'. There's far more annoying bosses to parody - Four Kings definitely comes to mind here, as well as Bed of Chaos (not a boss fight per se, just avoid his flailing arms and bottomless pits)

Also i think you should go with a much more dramatic and over the top voice, rather than this shy, awkward quiet voice you have now that sounds like a guy talking into a mic for a Let's Play rather than the character himself in the game. (Unless that's what you were going for. I thought you were treating your avatar as self-aware rather than a player's character)

While the animation was very good we didn't get to see much of anything beyond getting squashed the first time, which can feel a bit cheap - when everything happens off screen. As a general rule you don't want to keep off screen action going for too long, over five seconds or so is generally considered a no-no.

Lastly, the rant at the end did feel a bit overlong and out of place as well as being slightly out of context/ It could have been poignant and funny, but if you're gonna go for a ragequit you have to do the full monty ALL CAPS RAGE otherwise it comes off as a bit whiney.

Other than that i'm looking forward to seeing more of these.

Firstly i wand to say . I got lucky on that boss on my first try and ran away because i was scared, and he died , i was like WOOHOO!

OT: Are you reading a script? If so i would suggest memorising it beforehand so i sounds more natural . I'm not an expert on VA ( hell i don't even realize bad Va in games) but the voice in this didn't sound natural at all. I'm pretty sure you don't sound like that when having a conversation with another person.

It's nicely put together, there is much potential.
Like you said go easy on rant and add more funny, I suggest sticking with little text and more open interpretations.
In this case I would just show 10-20 different approaches(mostly completely fictional), and consequently lots of different hilarious deaths, respawning each time with a more stressed out face... till you flip your shit :D

That last part might not even be necessary, but if it hasto be there lean towards showing the silly defeat rather then just talking about it.

Very much this. More emotion, more rage in the voice acting.

Could I suggest Anor Londo archer-bros and Tomb of Giants. Those were some of the most frustrating parts for people, and I would enjoy watching an animation on them.

But good job. The animations were pretty smooth. It's just that the voice actor should have been more emotional.

What? It took me hours to dodge his fucking arm enough times to kill him. If you run away he does that fire breath which for me was like 80% HP gone. Granted, I did it right after Blight Town and used the Drake's Sword from that first red dragon on the bridge so my damage wasn't that good, but still, he was freaking hard. Roll a split second too early or late, and you're toast. Or don't notice he's randomly doing a double swing, and you're toast.

Still, he was not easy.

I lol'd.

I'd like to say the the voice acting could use a bit more...emotion.
It's not that bad, but if there were for emotion, it would be a lot better.

Pretty good so far though!

Question, was your equip over 50%? Because that's always a death sentence during boss fights.

No, I'm playing a Knight but I've increased his Endurance enough that with the Elite Knight Armor he is under 50% for fast rolls. I probably just have bad timing but seriously, Ceaseless Discharge is the hardest boss I've faced so far, second to Smough and what's his face (though I quickly realized killing the lightning guy first made it so much easier lol)

I said on the first post (and it is show right at the start of the video) that I am not the voice actor. I did everything else.

Your off to a decent start (the animation is surprisingly good). I agree with most of the things said here, but have one last thing to add:
There needs to be less voice acting. If you want to keep to this style of comedy, you need certain parts of the scenes to play out normally and let us get the joke without explaining it to us.

That's my opinion anyway.

I thought everything but the voice acting was great. Not enough emotion or volume, and there wasn't enough pause between sentences.

So pretty damn good overall.

Ask bro's or something, for a series like this you want voice acting like this:
Really, you don't even need pro voice actors, just passion.

I love the idea though, I wonder what kind of stuff you'll come up with. Plenty of source material, that's for sure.

Honestly?

It would have been about a hundred times better without the voiceover. Less can be more, broham, and in this case flimflam or whatever his name was chatting the whole time like he's narrating a "how-to" video was a serious detriment to your overall product.

...

Also, while we're on the subject of Ceaseless Discharge, I beat him the first few times without ever knowing that you could lure him to the pit and make him fall. Just hide in that little split in the path and bait him into attacking, then chop away. I actually died more times trying to get him to fall down that hole after I found out you could do it because 9 times out of 10 he'd get to the edge and then just stand there shooting fire at me.
