I'm at the start of Sen's Fortess, the lizard warriors are kicking my ass. Any tips? (light warrior with slightly upgraded utchi)
Blighttown wasn't that bad. Capra Demon was horrible, same with the gargoyles. They sucked too.
My advice is: sorcery and soul arrows. Very useful tool especially in a tricky dungeon like Sen's Fortress. Fighting a lizard while walking on a narrow ledge and have another lizard from affar spaming you with lightning attacks, and if you survive the fall to have a bunch of Titanite Demons as a welcome comitee on the ground isn't the easiest thing in the world. So yeah...try sorcery. lol

It's not really facts when you base it on your opinion... Just felt that needs to be pointed out.

The catacombs are easy once you have a divine weapon. If you somehow managed to get through it without one then ... respect. I'll take the catacombs any day over the New Londo ruins. Skinny walkways + silent enemies who attack through walls = evil!

So what happens if you kill Smough first?
You can then buy from the merchant in the Depths Ornstein's armour, which a very cool piece. (later you can find that merchant under the bridge of Firelink Shrine)

I have to agree with you, maybe I was wrong Catacombs isn't really the worst area. There are other stronger candidates. New Londo Ruins is probably the "winner", or perhaps a tie with Tomb of Giants.

if you pay too much attention to the overall plot and what your character really is in the world your soul will be crushed to the point where you can no longer play the game

just...christ the subplot with anastacia of astora was enough to get to me...........I ONLY WANTED TO HELP

I gotta ask, what gave you so much trouble? I only died twice fighting the Bed of Chaos, and both times were "Oh that section of floor opens up? I wish I had known that pre-roll." I went right then left. For the left I just hugged the wall and jumped over a small gap to approach. Easy stuff. Not trying to brag, just curious as to why you had so much trouble with it.
I went right then left too. The problem was that I didn't have the time to move because all the times the monster's hands swept me away and if they didn't kill with the first hit, they did it with the second one before I had the time to heal myself, or they simply pushed me in the holes of the cracked floor. I didn't know what armour set to use, everything failed. Heavy armour gave me a small defence advantage, but made me slower, hence I was doomed. A light armour gave me more chances to survive as I kept rolling forward, but a single hit was sure death. Anyway I at the end I decided to chose the Gold Hemmed armour but with a Black Iron +5 helmet. I don't how I did it, with luck and constantly rolling, I reached the end of the left path. The funny thing is that this is my fourth playthrough (no NG+++, just NG this time) and I always don't have a clue how to cross that second path.
I read two very useful suggestions in this thread that during the panic of the battle never crossed my mind. Your strategy, hugging the wall- it's so obvious, but I couldn't think of it. And the solution of breaking the orbs from a safe distance with bow and arrows. In my 5th playthrough I will surely try both!

well you know, "facts" in my opinion always.

1. The most annoying area of the game is Catacombs and the most annoying enemy Pinwheel Skeletons.
2. The hardest boss battle is Smough and Ornstein, especially if you want to kill Smough first.
3. The most useful item in the game is Lordvessel.
4. The most "cult figure" is probably Knight Solaire.
5. The most attractive female presence in the game is Gwynevere. But that's a matter of personal taste of course.

Thoughts?
1.It's a tie between the Catacombs and Blighttown for the most annoying area. In the Catacombs you gotta deal with those damn skeletons and their refusal to die, and in Blighttown there are those toxic dart shooters (God getting that Fire Keeper Soul in Blighttown was a pain).

2. Four Kings and The Bed of Chaos. That is all.

And am I the only one who thought Lord Gwyn was one of the easiest bosses in the game? It took about two minutes for me to destroy him.

Ornstein abosrbs Smough's power and becomes godlike from what I've heard (since almost everybody says that Ornstein is incredibly difficult if you kill Smough first).

Yeah, don't think I'll be doing that then. Electric Smough a pain but at least he's slow.

Super-Ornstein is the ultimate evil. He is so huge and powerful that made me shit my pants. LOL

First two serpent warriors you can use the arrow trap to either severely damage or kill one. Go right or left without stepping on the trap trigger to get their attention, then wait till they come down the stairs before setting off the trap.
Warrior on the bridge you can kite with a single arrow attack into the blade traps & and a fall, then wait for him to climb up (he'll be coming from the ledge above you on your left) take him out without worrying about the sorcerer serpent on the other bridge.
Soercerer serpent you can snipe from the starting platform before you pass the first traps.
Otherwise, get in close to backstab for both types. If you've got a shield with decent stability and 100% physical block, they're not much trouble one on one. Roll under the sorcerer's lightning to get close and hack away.

As for the other stuff;
Blighttown sucked, but not as much as New Londo Ruins.

Ornstein and Smough were VERY difficult, but I'm having a harder time with the Four Kings spamming undodgeable grab attacks. ...and yes, I realize they're probably dodgeable, but I can't tell the difference between this attack's wind-up and another's. They all look the same when you're trying to strafe behind them. I can get through two or three of these guys, but they start pulling the Computer Cheats trope. Had to give up when I ran out of Transient Curses; ghosts stopped dropping them for 3 trips and that was it. Anyone know of a shield that'll block ghosts? Got a Jagged Sword that works (poorly, but still works).

Someone also mentioned the Iron Golem's grab attack locking on no matter where you are, and I found this happened a few times. Noticed it happens sometimes with the Sentinel's shield smash in Anor Londo, too.

Believe or not, the Bell Gargoyles ruined my day... probably because I insisted on doing it alone and undead. Different strokes I guess.

Ahh I see. Sounds like you were just making it hard on yourself lol. Well I'm glad that my suggestion might be of some help to you in the future.

Hmm?

Yes she does.

What else would explain the painting in one of the bedrooms and statues of her that look like her illusion?

I'm sure the real Gywnevere looks like that. It's just that you don't meet her at all, only her illusion. And yes she still counts.
It's actually stated in an item description that Gwyndolin created the beautiful illusion to mask Gwynevere's hideous form. And, obviously, if she's having her younger brother make her look pretty with magic, it follows that she's not going to let people paint pictures of her ugly self.

...come to think of it, Gwyndolin also gave the Anor Londo firekeeper Brass Armor because she was hideous, too. He's got a soft spot for ugly girls, I guess.
Oooooh, I didn't know that. What item was that in?

Really annoyed; when I fought Laurel and Hardy (Ornstein and Smough) I did it first time; I must have been overleveled because I'm not an amazing player by any means.
Well, I did have a fully upgraded Black Knight Greataxe. So amazing hahaha xD.

Still need to finish the last area...Izalith I think it's called? Not looking forward to it; that's on hold.

I...just about...agree with the Catacombs, bleh.

Praise the sun!

EDIT: Oh fuck I forgot about Sen's fortress. FUCK THAT PLACE, I could handle the enemies easy but those bridges with the axes...naaaaah I couldn't take that at all. So happy when I made it though, fuck yeah.

Lizard warriors? The two at the start can be fought separately, go along one side, and wait for it to start moving, then run back outside. Block and consantly try to circle behind them. deal critical backstabs, or use nearby traps on them. The best part is backstabbing them on a narrow walkway, at an angle, so you punt them off into the darkness. =D

Other facts! - Sif will make you cry.

1. For me it's sort of a tie between both the Catacombs and New Londo Ruins when it came to which area was the most annoying. The former I didn't realize that I needed a divine weapon until the shopkeep down in the depths told me. The latter I didn't even need to go to until much later in the game.

2. Smough and Ornstein have to be my two favorite bosses in Dark Souls. So much epicness in one fight. The hardest for me though would most likely be The Four Kings. Especially on New Game Plus.

3. Yeah the Lordvessel's cool and all, but it only lets you warp over to certain bonfires. I'd say Humanity's the most useful considering it helps you get more Estus and can make you Human.

4. Can't argue with this one. Either way though, he's a true bro all the way.

5. She does have magnificent... uh... hair! That's it hair! Although my vote would probably have to go to Siegmeyer's daughter Sieglinde. Sure, you don't actually know what she looks like because of her armor, so I can't really say anything about her attractiveness, but her voice is just adorable. :3
