There are well over 6000 7000 8000 9000 [HEADING=1]10.000[/HEADING] signatures set and I'm sure the Escapist can add to this.

I'm too lazy awesome to write down 10 pages of motivation of why they should bring Dark Souls to PC, so most reasoning can be found in the video below.

Second i totally agree with whole plan of porting DS to PC, the one thing im worried about is that they dont botch the controls and commands, and i already signed it.

i own a PC, and an Xbox, but i dont feel the need to tell anyone and everyone why one is superior than the other.

TB is a veteran PC gamer, he has had to put up with the entire genres he loves being withered down as the market changes, and sadly I would agree that most these trends tend to be tied to console gaming in a vague way.

I don't mind so much as I have tried to have a producer sort of out look (future job I hope), but a vet like him... well his patience most likely died long ago

I'm slightly fan boyish(if you count thinking it is the best experience) of PC gaming, but I was hoping the Escapist wouldn't let this thread fall into fan boys and flaming like it currently seems to be infected with

Awwww Christ I'm subed to TB and I gotta say he does sound like a prick in this video. Dark souls is great on PS3 as is. I am not opposed to releasing it on PC because it broadens the market and increases retail of the games, but on that note why don't they also release it on other consoles as well? If it increases over all sales then isn't that a good thing? As for TB, its just the way he sounds in the video that is particularly annoying, PC is superior yes, but TB, you can appreciate it on console just as much as you would on PC. Its like as if I said I can't "appreciate" PC shooters because they are more of a console thing. Just makes me seem like a massive dick... ahh TB you always get me.

The man above me makes a very good point though, and makes me feel particularly sad for TB.

Well I'm a PC gamer (It's a pretty high end one) but I also play xbox and wii. I dunno I don't like this attitude we seem to be getting about it all.

It's a shame this thread is getting a bit flamey though. Dark Souls is an awesome game (even though I'm pants at it) and more sales is more pennies towards a sequel.

I do think that the game should come to PC (and the 360 and the WiiU), because giving more people the chance to play a good game is always a good thing.

And WOW that guy is a total fucking twat. Which is a shame, because in his actual business analysis made a ton of sense. That is, whenever he wasn't spouting the usual PC Gamer cry of "Look at the size of my penis PC!" that seems to be hard-wired into every PC Gamer alive.

After watching that video, I really hope Namco never releases the game on PC.

But why? It's a great game and everybody should be able to enjoy it. I wish that no games had to exclude any platforms but sadly that's the way things are.

Also, I know TB can seem a bit PC elitist and he is but he provides good points.

Yep got to second that, I personally as a PC gamer don't even care if my PC games are not super better looking the consoles, which many have becomes obsessed with, but it's a sad repercussion among PC gamers caused by the console focused market.
I am fairly thankful however, as the PC market I think will retake it's place as the main design platform, due to the surge of users and such, mostly caused by all the new MMOs, F2P, Steam and GOG (god I love GOG )

Oh well let's hope dark souls comes out on PC, tho i'll have to wait till I have recovered from the recent steam sales XD

Well I get why, as I said he was a bit pissed, as it's something he feels is totally clear that it should be on PC, and as per norm people just never bothered to check it out as an option. He was probably pissed as well due to the recent "This is why we can't have nice things" video, which again I agree with. On the other hand I would still say he isn't as PC fan boyish or annoying as the Yogcast XD

Hate to burst your bubble even further but between From Software and Namco Bandai only 4 games got PC releases. It's quite obvious that they're not heavily invested in the PC.

Maybe they just don't like the idea of someone modding Dark Souls and creating insta-kill weapons, ruining the games challenge and wrecking havoc on other players.

Seriously.....PC gamers need to stop complaining that they get hard done by since all the games are coming out of console. PC gamers have more exclusive games than console gamers will ever have.

In the end, the argument is moot. Grow up, get a job, buy both console and PC. Not finished university yet? Then finish that first, then worry about your fucking video games.

The video was pretty inflammatory about the whole "Console players won't appreciate it." They (and I) do, that doesn't mean that I don't want to play it on PC either though. It'd be GREAT to play it at full 1080 instead of 720, and with better performance across the board. I won't mind AT ALL using a 360 controller. I recognize that sometimes some games just to better with them.

To be honest the console "fanboys" here are just as bad as the PC "elitists" they're railing against. We aren't here to start a flame war over stupid biases and idiotic vendettas against people we don't know because they have a slightly different opinion. It's all very hypocritical and pointless. :|

Now that the slightly ranty bit of my mind has been appeased for the day, onward. I personally think this is a good idea (both from a business perspective and I've been sad that neither of them were on PC) and will be signing, because a good game should be on as many platforms as possible.

But then you have people like me who get put in an "either/or" type situation. It's either a gaming PC or consoles (only have a Wii for Zelda and surrogates SNES because I traded in an arseload of stuff... >.>). I chose PC because I prefer it as a platform and I prefer Digital Distribution, quarterly Steam sales, and the occasional Indie gem like Terraria or Bastion over ludicrously expensive $60 games and the inability to mod games or upgrade my system.

Or there are just other people who already have a gaming rig but don't feel like buying a console just for one or two games.

Yeah, it's not like Demon's Souls didn't become a cult classic and Dark Souls sold even more because of it. Yup, we console games don't apperciate it at ALL.

Mods would completely wreck a game like Dark Souls. The way that it works just doesn't support mods. Imagine people modding in ultimate weapons then going into PVP.

Honestly, I couldn;t care less if it was on PC, but the game just works better with a controller. I know you can plug a controller into a PC, but not everyone will be happy that it will be the only real way to play it. Mouse and Keyboard for Dark Souls... Ew... That just isn't a good mix at all. Espicially since PC gamers would (They really would) about not having things like hotkeys and such.

Also I like TB's videos but he came off not only has a huge PC elitist (which imo are the worst) and a bit of a prick.

I signed it, I'd pick this one up for $20 or so if it were on steam. This is why I don't complain about console ports*, because it means more games available for me to play.

*If it's a really shitty port, like from Ubisoft, then obviously that sucks, I'm just saying a console-oriented Skyrim is better than no Skyrim at all, etc.
