April 25th

It's about a month later than the console release, but at least it's the weird last gen consoles so I can understand having to put an extra month of work into it. Also, it's apparently supposed to work correctly.

The did say they want to make it playable with mouse and keyboard, but in a game that requires that level of precision and timing in movement, I think a gamepad would be for the best. In any game that has a third person melee focus, I find it hard to play with a keyboard with out getting frustrated.

I expect another copy and paste hack job from the Xbox 360 version that will need to be heavily modded to be playable. Delays for PC ports are often done these days because the publishers are afraid of pirates, and are hoping the pirates are impatient enough that they will go buy the console version of the game instead of waiting a month for the PC port. I suppose the lack of GFWL will be one guaranteed improvement at least.

It's touted as being visually superior, with support for higher resolutions and texture options than the consoles.

Which are basically, standard features for a PC port.

However, we'll see what happens.

I played the first one with M&KB just fine. Completed it twice in about 120 hours or so, taking my time to do everything I wanted to, pvp, etc. Ofc you had to get the DSMfix, which apparently gave many people an allergic reaction judging by how oblivious everybody is about it's existance.

In terms of the first Dark Souls, I played it on mouse and keyboard (with DSMfix) with no issue; also played some of it on a PS3 and I can't really say my performance was noticeably better. I will say that mouse and keyboard took a bit longer to get used to, but once I was used to it, it was fine. Plus, I got to mod the ugly grass crest shield to look much nicer, as well as give the awesome but ugly-as-fuck halberd a nice black retexture.

Tempted to buy Dark Souls II for PS3 instead and play it earlier....but nah, I'm a PC gamer at heart. I'll wait a month for the better visuals and the modding capability.

We shall see, I won't be buying it straight away (my mistake with the first game) rather waiting abit to see if its got kinks that need fixing via patches. Only then I will decide wheather or not should I buy it.

I'm going to be playing it with a controller though I have beat the first one with kb+m fine. Hopefully it won't require so much work this time around to set it up.
