I've played and finished Darksiders 2. And it was awesome. and if you haven't bought it or are thinking of buying it, go for the latter option. But it. It's awesome.

What I loved~
  • Locations! They were good. Stood out in their way.
    Weapons. Nice variety.
Characters. Quite nice. Loved the voice acting. Particularly Death. Not too many so you don't forget names.
Quests. Very relevant surprisingly. Good gifts at the end too.
Boss Battles. Really liked them. They are challenging. And the soundtrack which plays in the background is... super.
Ending! No spoilers. Not that's there's anything to spoil. But it's an ending done right!
New Game Plus Mode. Oh thank the Heavens they included this! I feel oh so happy in kicking corrupted arses with overpowered stuff. :D

What I disliked.
  • Locations. Dungeons to be precise. You seen 'em once in one world, you seen 'em all.
Weapons. Not much variety in combos. The basic counter attacks are sufficient for dealing tons of damage.
Weapons pt.II: So there are special types of weapons call 'possessed weapons'. Gist is that you 'sacrifice' weapons to it, thus upgrading its damage output and giving more special abilities. The problem? Once you have 'em, they become very overpowered. Especially if you use the right kind of weapons for the sacrifice. I don't why I dislike this though. I suppose it can be in both lists.

So! My question to you fine people is, what did you like and/or/maybe/I'unno dislike about Darksiders 2? :D

I like it so far, haven't finished it yet due to lack of time to play. It's a very good blend of borrowed ideas, none of them feel out of place and it flows quite nicely. World feels large even though it really isn't that big.

Not so keen on some of the mechanics though, but nothing crippling.

I like it mainly because there are so few like it... or rather none, I really miss that big charming adventure world, or in other words it's the modern Zelda I wanted for years.

Ya I have similar complaints with it, plus the bad UI and horrid textures... the game is mostly saved by the vacuum in the market, but hey if there is only one guy making chocolate then I will be his regular customer.

The music. Oh man, THE MUSIC! Jesper Kyd is a god!

And it's a pretty awesome game. I did not expect it to be anything more than a mindless hack & slash. I was positively surprised. I enjoy everything about the game. There are some flaws, sure. But they are insignificant. I'm just having a blast. It has an old school vibe to it, without being held back by limitations of old school hack & slash games.

How long is the game? I've reached the third world (the heavenly place), and while I've enjoyed my time with the game, I'm starting to get fatigued with it. The same thing happened with first game now that I think about it. Anyway, I think I can guess how the story ends, but it's be nice to see it in action. Is the second half of the game shorter than the first?
