Darkspore Beta

Well I just got into the Darkspore Beta somehow, never signed up for it but I'll give it a try. I've heard it's pretty good. Anyone else get in and/or played it? Thoughts?

Is it the massivly single player space colonization game with a we were promised in 2006?

Or is it animals jumping all over the place spouting semi-musical notes at eachother.

It's Diablo but you can switch in different characters mid battle and customize them with the Spore creature creator.

I've seen some livecasts. Neither the artstyle or gameplay looks appealing, and I doubt the crafting/customization system will be enough to make me reevaluate my disinterest in it.
