Revan is officially male, the Jedi Outcast (KoToR 2) is female. They have stated this, though hesitantly at first. Though I think Revan is male just cause they made him male as an action figure and the people were like "fine, hes officially a dude".

Male. And Revan isn't his name. The Revanchist is his title. He shortened it and used it as a name once he became a sith.

It's so that they can reference him in other canon extended universe entries and not have to be ambiguous about his gender.
