Yeah, Google ads. It might be due to the browser - unless they brought it in only a couple of hours ago, things were business as usual on FireFox and IE, but now I'm on AOL for a few moments they've popped up.

I never said anything and even begrudgingly agreed when they added ads at the beginning and end of their videos... Yahtzee and the others roll in a LOT of the traffic and traffic + ads = revenue. Ok, I can even live with the annoying background ads... But this is just annoying... At least add them at the bottom/top of the fucking thing, don't add them in the MIDDLE... That's just intrusive and obnoxious...

You mean the ones that shout "You've just qualified to win a free xbox 360"? Yeah, that pretty much kills a site for me. And the reason they don't put it at the bottom is because they get money based on how many people click it, and putting it in the middle makes it more likely to get clicked.Caliostro said:

so, in the locked one it said promoting ad blocking software on a site that makes money on ads=bad but in the middle of the page 2/3 of the ads were for ad blocking software, they might wanna fix that with google, because that just seems.. i dont know, wrong? in fact those companies even advertising in something other than banner ads is pretty fucked up.

As long as they don't start playing Schnuffel Bunny when I roll my mouse over to change tabs... (YES THAT HAS HAPPENED!)And it covers 90% of the width of my screen so I have to dodge the ads every time I do something...
Every one should go over to the "Suggestions/problems/complaints with the Escapist forums" thread and post your displeasure with the ads. The more people can get to do it, the better chance we stand at getting them moved or removed from the middle of the threads.
