Well if she can talk something that isn't conversation A. B. or C. (A girl who can find conversation D is more fun).

I just hate silence. It makes a date awkward.
Cockiness and sense of humour.

Well that may be, but some guys are being very specific; hair colour, eye colour, just so boobs, so tall, so slim...
Surely if you'd been rejected you'd broaden your search.

uhhhh... Well I guess my standards are any girl who would talk to me out of free will without the intent to trick/insult me... Goddamn I'm lonely.

What's with all the dating threads? And more to the point, some of you want a lot don't you?

My preferences.
At least as tall as me. (5'11)
So many women have an obsession with height, it's very depressing. It's definately the female "equivalent" of the male obsession with breasts. But at least Women can get breast implants, it's a lot harder for short men to magically grow several inches.

To be honest, with me it's just a practicality issue. I don't have a problem with short men, but I'm a tall girl, it's a bit awkward.

I suppose that's fair, but I maintain my comment as a shot at the wider female populace who are primarily attracted to height. Believe me there are a lot of them and to us short men it is chronically unfair at times.

Blood red hair, eye liner and pale skin... and any hair colour really. But I just love blood red.

True, but I think a lot of guys here are taking this as a bit more of a "ideal mate" style thread than exact dating standards. Even I slipped into that type of post. I'm sure many of us here would probably go out with someone who may actually meet only just a few marks so long as they actually enjoy being around them and develop an attraction.

I'm no prize myself so I don't really have high standards of appearance so I base most of my standards on personality. Basically anyone I would date would...

1) Need to be able to put up with me
2) Need to be geeky enough to have something in common with me
3) Be creative enough to discuss projects.
4) Need to like Raiders of the Lost Ark and hopefully Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

I agree with above post, some are too exact here. Personally, I have only 1 real standard, that is this: The person must be a Redhead. I'm a redhead myself, and as such I'm only interested in other Redheads. This is not to say I'm discriminatory to other hair colors, I just prefer a redhead (The hair color, as well as the other typical features that go along with it, freckles, light complexion, etc). As long as they are a Redhead, and I get along with them, other aspects aren't really an issue.

I'm surprised at the amount of people on here who like redheads with green eyes (mine is dyed a darkish red because I'm quite pale and like to goth it up a little) - most blokes I know prefer blondes with heavy tans who don't like eating but love white mini skirts.

I tend to look mainly for someone I can talk with about anything, you know, the kind of talk where you suddenly realise it's four am and you still want to carry on talking.

I'd like someone who is into anime/manga too, there's no-one around here into that, no matter how long I loiter around Borders...

Physically, I tend to go for non-blondes, but that's more of a trend as opposed to a choice. Wide shoulders too for some reason. Long hair is good but not essential, as long as it's not greasy rocker hair. Clean rocker hair is better.

Mainly it's the brain I'm after. Someone who can spell and who knows what words like Pedantic mean (I've had ex's to whom I've had to explain the conversation to before even having the bloody thing). A like of bloody shoot-em-up's, especially zombie games is nice.

What are your standards for a member of the opposite sex?
In this case, essentially she'd have to be tall, short hair, broad shoulders, small to non-existant 'bewbs' as you call them, a prominent jawline, large hands and feet, small hips and hairy legs and maybe some facial hair too.

But seriously, gay people date as well.
Woops! Sorry I'll fix that.

Been a while since I been with a girl, 4 years to be precise so currently, the only thing that matters is she is human, can talk sense and be not overweight ( with all due respect, I don't get attracted to fat girls ). I don't mind anorexics to be honest.

I ain't the best looking guy, i'd say descent enough to warrant some interest. If we both feel comfortable and enjoy each other's company, its on.

For 19.5 years, girls have mostly avoided or ignored me, so I never looked out for a girl, honestly I don't know what I liked in girls back then either.. However, a year ago I started talking with people online, for serious, and most of them are, in fact, girls.

On top of that, I'm convinced that about half a year ago, I realized I have feelings for one of them. She's a sweet, funny, smart and very pretty girl. Among other things she's got dark brown eyes I'm certain I'll be lost in them if I look her in the eyes xD She's a good friend, and has said I don't have a hard time making her laugh, which is quite something for a guy whose jokes don't often came through in the past.

Unfortunately though, she.. lives in another country. Though, I'll meet her someday, perhaps this year if luck and chance is on my side, and then I'll maybe get to see if I actually genuinely can love her, and if she's really the one I would wish to spend my life with..

Then the only question for me would be if she could love me..

At least I did get to have a crush on a sweet and cute girl just a month before I turned 20, which to my old self would be unbelievable.
