Still continuing to look like "Dawn of Justice" will have all the exact same things wrong with it that "Man of Steel" did.

Having a sort of Pacific Islander look is quite a nice way to go but at the moment all I'm seeing is an Emo Surfer with a pitch-fork.

I was assuming the "seven" referred to members of the Justice League, since thats what they're making Bats v. Supes an obvious lead in to. Which would be Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and I believe Flash as characters they've got confirmed actors for (oddly for Flash they haven't used the guy currently playing him in the TV show...), so who's the seventh? They got a Martian Manhunter they haven't told us about?
Nope. We are not getting J'onn because Goyer is a dick.

I would imagine that they will go with Green Lanturn with many fans wanting them to use John Stewart instead of Hal Jorden.

OT:
He looks fine to me. I can honestly say that I will not be seeing the movie as I did not like Man of Steel but I hope he pulls it off. I have never liked Aquaman but I have always accepted that his is a badass and I think it is time the character is realised as such even if I don't like him.

I did, too, but alas with comic book super hero movies nobody is allowed to be blissfully ignorant =/

washed out color pallet and busy ascetic aside I still think Momoa can do a decent to good job with this character.

But.....is anyone else bothered that his trident has 5 prongs not 3? it's not a trident it's a pitch fork
Good point... Still, Aquaman's mighty pitch fork doesn't have the same ring to it.
So lets call it a pentadent! :D

Personally I think he looks like an early 2000's rock band lead singer. :3

So they're going with his 90s look? Should have expected that. Maybe he'll get a hook hand later as well.

Hmmm. He looks pretty bad ass actually. I think his outfit needs a lot more color though. I'm just afraid Dawn of Justice is going to look just as washed out color wise as Man of Steel.

Yeah, I can picture that standing on top of a killer whale. Also, "Trident that is powerful enough to wound even Superman" one of Superman's stated weaknesses is magic. A two-bit hedge mage with a level one scroll of magic missile could lay him out.

.....So hands up here who doesn't think this movie is gonna be a cluttered mess?

Anyway, great casting for Aquaman. Momoa knows how to act as a formidable force, and I think that's exactly what the character needs.
*raises hand up*

I think we're going waaay too fast here from going just from Superman to the whole League in one movie.

OT: Looks good, Momoa can do a good job of acting as a formidable force and I like the outfit honestly, just wish it had some damn color to it though. It doesn't have to be super crazy and colorful like the MCU is at times but some color would be nice atleast.

You know, bitching about changing the colour scheme seems a bit silly when you consider that one of the most mocked and despised aspects of Aquaman IS his original colour scheme.

That's a pretty good point actually. Maybe Jason Momoa can actually dispel the saying: "Aquaman sucks, even underwater."

Still they're going to have to do a pretty good job with the dawn of justice movie for the actual Justice League movie to have a chance. But seeing as how certain parts of the team seem to have been selected because they hate comic books... Hope runs a bit thin, and thinner if they think the answer to DC's character-less characters is to make it all dark and gritty. Personally I think what's gonna happen is it's gonna go of as DC/WB trying to jump on the Marvel fuelled comic book movie bandwagon, but missing it by providing too little, too late.

Really if they wanted to do something productive with DC it would be to basically introduce all the characters, give them a bit more of a classic and campy spin, and only then think of doing Justice League. As it stands Marvel dominates the more serious minded comic book movie market, so campy DC would be a fun way to off set that.

Raises hand.

Though I do agree with you. Despite all of the shit these people have gotten over casting, I think Mamoa is an excellent choice. Never thought Aquaman could look badass, but that poster is making me seriously reconsider.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that particular event <_<
Well Green Lantern's good too I suppose, their earlier attempt at him could use some judicious covering up, but given that about half the Justice League's members are wacky aliens or such I think they're crippling themselves by trying to ignore that kind of goofiness

Moreover, when you really get down to it, this isn't too far off from how Momoa looked during his famous performance as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.
I mean yeah, the two look incredibly similar, in that both are played by the same person and he's showing off his abs. I mean sure, this one has different tattoos, armor, weapon, hairstyle, and beard, but apart from that it's like a straight rip off.

You took all the words right out of my mouth, Nubrain!
A TRIdent always has three prongs, it's right there in the bloody name! :(

Go Jason Momoa, in any case! ;)

So he has essentially all of those differences... I fail to see how that is a rip off and not just Jason Momoa looking like himself. Then again I also don't watch Game of Thrones so I could be completely missing something here.

It looks like someone went through Lordi's discarded costume choices and decided to put that on.

Seriously, I think I have a metal album that looks similar to this.

It managed to look generic and desperate at the same time.
Oh, my god, it does look like the Lordi guy! Well, if the Lordi guy was a male stripper anyway.
