I have the day off from work today, so I got to thinking about my days off. This is my last day off for awhile (over a week, I think), so I've been taking it easy and enjoying it. Although, to not feel completely useless, I did a couple small things - washed the dishes, and took the dogs for a walk.

How do you guys approach your days off (whether from work or school or whatever)? Do you try to avoid any work and enjoy them as leisure time? Or do you still do things that could be considered "work", because the day would feel wasted otherwise, or you don't want to pile it all on an actual workday and be overloaded? Do you get many days off?

I only work 3 days a week, all in a row (Saturday/Sunday/Monday) so I get 4 day weekends. I lounge around in my underwear and play video games.

I know I'll never get the chance to live so well when I'm older, so I'm milking my opportunities now.

Any days off from school, be the weekend, holidays, teacher training days etc...I treat as relaxing points, otherwise I always feel they're wasted. So I just treat them as days I don't have to do any work, and it makes me feel a lot better.

Life with out a job is pretty cool for me.

I mainly play games most of the day, as I don't really want to go out. I get to spend all my time with my cats, so it great that I never have to leave them alone.

Before people call me a 'bludger' or whatever I got quite a considerable inheritence 3 years ago and have been living off that quite comfortably. Since your on a gaming website, I'm surprised that you don't spend your days off playing games :)

days where I have nothing to do are such a rarity for me, that I typically just sleep through them. The time spent conscious on such days is usually committed to doing as absolutely little as possible.

I wish I was allowed to enjoy my days off. If I try to sleep past 8 -- let alone 10 -- I get a speech about how adults don't get days off, and "days off" are actually days to get stuff done around the house. I am so looking forward to moving into a dorm in the next few months.

Edit: This has been going on roughly since I turned five.

I enjoy every moment I can doing what I like to do. Video games obviously but I also like to visit the markets in London and hang out with friends. I may be heading off topic here but I have a slight fear of the working world, I've probably had some bad examples of it but it just seems like something I'd rather not do from what I have seen. I know I'll have to do it but the longer I can go without it the better.

All in all the way I see it, days off are for fun.

Well, since I'm off on sick leave, I've been doing what I always do on my days off, minus going out every now and then.
Which is just reading the hell out of TV Tropes, trying to finish the latest anime series that I started, and trying not to yell at the TV when I play mah games.
Ordinarily I get weekends off, though I'm going to have far more due to likely being forced to quit my job for health reasons.

Pretty much this (lol jk, epic reply though). And sleep in my boxers. Have some cake with my Gf (watch latest ZP).
