So trying to be more like WarZ??, Hotkey item bar, loot spawns now spawning in broken down vehicles, changeable headgear, etc.
DayZ stand alone runs off ArmA 3, which announced plans for changeable clothing and helmats before either DayZ or WarZ existed. Their just using A3's improvements.
DayZ does not run on Arma 3's engine. Arma 3 and Arma 2 use the same engine with Arma 3 improving that engine for its own purposes. DayZ runs on a modified Arma 2 engine (Virtual reality engine) that is similar to a client/server MMO style engine. Also, the DayZ engine has removed quite a few features unique to Arma 2/3. Rocket/Dean likes to use the example of how weapons are stored, Arma 3 uses a String variable to store weapons and DayZ standalone uses an Object to store weapons.

Edit: Corrected Engine mistake
Edit 2: Blog post about the engine: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/search/engine

Their the same engine, ArmA 3 simply adds improvements, DayZ is using those improvements, thus its using ArmA 3's version of the UI/system. Your nitpicking, my point is their using A3's updated system, I just kept it simple to understand. It's actually done in the pbos

They haven't shown the new UI so there is no way for us to know it is the same, and it's not the exact same engine that Arma 3 is using. The DayZ programmers ripped the engine apart and while the core mechanics may seem similar to Arma 2/3 underneath the hood they are completely different. Even the core mechanics are not the same as Arma 3, the gunplay and movement are completely different. It is more of a branch of the Arma 2 engine that uses a bit nicer graphics.

Just as long as I get to feel like I'm surviving with my friends with whom one of us will most likely slit all our throats while we're not looking and steal all our stuff, thats all the Day Z I need! They can take however long they want. Looking forwards to the many improvements and the chance to maybe play this thing on ps3.
