DayZ does not run on Arma 3's engine. Arma 3 and Arma 2 use the same engine with Arma 3 improving that engine for its own purposes. DayZ runs on a modified Arma 2 engine (Virtual reality engine) that is similar to a client/server MMO style engine. Also, the DayZ engine has removed quite a few features unique to Arma 2/3. Rocket/Dean likes to use the example of how weapons are stored, Arma 3 uses a String variable to store weapons and DayZ standalone uses an Object to store weapons.RicoADF said:DayZ stand alone runs off ArmA 3, which announced plans for changeable clothing and helmats before either DayZ or WarZ existed. Their just using A3's improvements.Baldr said:So trying to be more like WarZ??, Hotkey item bar, loot spawns now spawning in broken down vehicles, changeable headgear, etc.
Edit: Corrected Engine mistake
