Remember that time Teen Titans got really popular among younger girls who then bought comics featuring Starfire and, Raven only to find that the source material was WILDLY different from the show?

That's the one...I'm just curious to see how Convergence and the 2016 DCU will look while they're rolling out this new line. It looks like that line will be separate but comic ratings or not, new fans are going to want to look at other material featuring characters they like. I don't think the above will happen again but you never know.
That's not The Titans, that's Red Hood and the outlaws from the new 52, and it's notorious for the character assassination of Starfire.

Than you for pointing that out to that person that obviously doesn't read comics.

I don't see the problem with this plan. Let's just wait and see how this all pans out. Remember that most of the audience doesn't participate in message board arguments.

Why they'd go with Bumblebee and not the new Power Girl, I'll never know. Or would she be too similar to Supergirl?

And where's Zatanna?

And why Harley and Ivy? The lineup's 28% wasted on Batvillains.
Probably be too similar to Supergirl. What's really a shame is there's no Catwoman so the villains could be the Gotham City Sirens, but we could also get enemies like Circe, Cheetah and Silver Swan so we have here a chance for some unknowns to get their day in the spotlight.

6 white girls.

All 7 of them crack-skinny.

Progressivism, ho!
That's the second thing I noticed, except I think one of them is asian - and she and the black girl are both in the back of the shot, behind the villains.

I gotta say, I'm not impressed.

Its not perfect but its a start.

But why are people concerned that Harley and Ivy are included? The article says that the line will feature female heroes and villains. It never said that the merchandise and shows would only feature heroes. And its not like super villains have never had action figures marketed to little kids. I know Fisher Price has had a Joker figure before (and I think a Harley one too)

*gets fired*

"Let's do as how that girls will watch and give them some toys!"

Amazing how badly the last tenure screwed things up.
Not to mention lets make them all look more 'soft' and 'barbie'ish so they don't get scared away.

I'm sorry DC but; What backasswardsbullshit is this? Why? You didn't have to 'specially design' a new line 'for girls'. You had girl fans just doing what you were doing. And you told them (via Cartoon Network) they didn't matter to you pretty much.

Sorry but it's a little too late. Most of them have migrated off to Marvel to be their fans.

These look like they're designed by toy makers and all. (Why do toy production hire such creepy god awful artists... I mean look at the My little pony toys art, I feel sorry for the artist if that's what they're pressured to draw but dear god I think I'd have to put my foot down and some point and proclaim; NO ONE NEEDS THAT MUCH BLUSH AND EYE SPARKLES. NOT EVEN GAGA WOULD THINK THAT LOOKED GOOD YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY SLIPPED INTO UNCANNY VALLEY, PLEASE STOP)

Will be interesting to see how well this will do

Personally I prefer the more gender neutral shows, Young Justice managed to capture both a female and male audience with a diverse cast of characters, same with other non DC cartoons like Legend of Korra or Gravity Falls

Don't worry, the ones who lobbied for this will still find some way to get offended by it. Quid Pro Quo or whatever.

Ok so at least 3 people in this thread have made this comment. Is this actually something that was officially stated about canceling the show? I never watched it, but it seems...odd, that a statement like that would be listed as why a show got canceled. "Too many girls were watching our show." I mean, really? Please tell me this is just nerd culture cynical conspiracy theory.

Here's the article on it.

I...just...I...wut...I... (O_O) Gah!
Another case of women ruining everything.

Damn it women! First the Garden of Eden, then Troy, and now Young Justice. You're 0 for 3.

Though it's weird at the very least they don't have Zatanna, as others have said. She's a wizard.
