DC or Marvel?

I don't actually read any comics, but I prefer the Marvel characters.
Plus I know more of them. And Superman annoys me. But now I'm just being picky.

Marvel.

Their Heroes and Villains tend to be more "Human".
DC Heroes and Villains tend to be too "Perfect" or "One sided"

That said i do love Batman.

Though Iron Man is probably my favorite Hero.

Though ever since the end of Civil War Marvel's had many many stupid storylines. (OMD being the worst.)

DC. Only comics I have are Batman ones. Also The Dark Knight is possibly my favourite film ever just for Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker, so yeah. DC.

But the Marvel films are a lot of fun...until they add in dancing.

Up until a few years ago, Marvel pretty much dominated my comic book purchases. I'd pick up the occassional DC or Image or indie book, but I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. Once "One More Day", "Ultimatum", and "Secret Invasion"/"Dark Reign"* happened, though, things went so far downhill that I've been buying less and less Marvel books. Certainly doesn't help that the few books that I would want to buy from them now, Uncanny X-Force, Jason Aaron's Wolverine, etc., they hiked the price up (and reduced the number of story pages for).

Meanwhile, DC has Grant Morrison writing Batman, and who gave the world Damian Wayne, an awesomely evil little shit of a Robin (yet one who wants to redeem himself as a hero). Then there's their Vertigo imprint, always reliable, and Strackyzinski's doing a little bit of interestig work with Wonder Woman.

So, I've been buying DC lately.

*Is it just me, or was anyone else tired of Dark Reign even before it happened? Plus, with all the "Dark Reign: [insert character here]" or even "Dark Reign: Dark [insert character here]" mini-series and story arcs, they missed out on a golden opportunity to release "Dark Reign: Dark Darkhawk" for maximum darkness. Also, "Age of Heroes" should have been called "Light Reign" and just had everyone standing around in a drizzle.

Marvel I think better stories and superheroes but DC is also cool the bad guys in DC are way cooler.

Marvel for its heroes but DC for the enemys, i just feel they made there villians a lot better than marvel did, because they are actually bad and insane, the batman ones anyway xD

Currently they have the better writers.
Vertigo is under DC.
I also like the DC characters a lot more.

I also think they are the 'nicer' company in the sense of business practices. There have been a couple of things that Marvel have done recently that I found really underhanded and devious.



edit: Everybody should agree that Vertigo is the best company though. How can any other company compare with a lineup that includes...

I prefer DC, but only because of Batman and his family of heroes. I care not for the Flash, Wonderwoman, Lantern, Superman etc.

Marvel has more 'normal' heroes, but I don't care for them either.

It has to be DC. Although I have never really taken the time to read loads of comics, from what I have read and seen; DC stand out.

The characters just seem to be more feasible and realistic to me. Especially Batman: just a normal dude but solid nevertheless. I'm sure if I read more Marvel I would find something to my liking but right now, DC FTW!!

I lending toward DC but only because their cartoon show rock! Marvel however got much better live action movies then DC. I lending to DC because I like their superhero teams better since there are more teams (Justice League, Teen Titan, Green Lantern Corp) then Marvel.
While Avengers are great in their own way but what other heroes team are there beside Avengers? X-Men, Fantastic 4 and who else? (Ok I know a few more Marvel hero teams but I know a lot more DC hero team)

While Batman is one of my favorite superheroes, he's the only DC character I care for.

This. I occasionally enjoy the Green Lantern though.

A few years ago, I would have said Marvel in a heartbeat. Classic (pre-2000's) Marvel was amazing. Now, post-Disney Buyout, I live in fear of seeing a Hannah Montana ad in the pages of the latest Deadpool and have therefore started subbing Batman. DC (specifically Batman) is reasonably okay now (although I don't like having to buy four different titles just to keep up with one character) and was great prior to the 90's. I guess if tortured, I'd still have to say Marvel, just 'cause they've got more titles I'm WILLING to read.

Um, both? I actually follow writers regardless of who they happen to write for. So Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Brian Michael Bendis and Grant Morrison. I mean, any of those guys could write a Sesame Street book and I would preorder it.
