I think it looks good, all that create your own superhero/villain business.
I'm not really sure what the gameplay will actually be like though, is it an action game or an RPG ?
Also, what does everyone else think of it so far ?

I havent seen enough to really comment on it.
Teh game certainly has the "established franchise" bonus, but apart from that I haven't seen anything really impressive. Also this game will probably be rather simple as it also comes out for the PS3, meaning that many PC gamers, who are used to more complex games, will be disappointed. But Champions Online also suffers from this, so its not a big problem.

It remains to be seen if this game will have more than just the DC license. Personally I would want a more serious superhero MMO as contrast to City of Heros and Champions Online (more in the direction of The Dark Knight), but while this would work for Batman, it probably won't work for many other superheros.
I also have the feeling that the community will be not very good and that "Superhero X is better than Superhero Y" discussions will be a daily occurance.

Anyway, ask again when more about this game is known.

I've seen a bit a footage here and there, but yeah, it doesn't have the make your own character stuff down yet. If you wanted to, you can stick the DC license anywhere. I could think of somewhere better than DC Universe Online!

Even though, very good point Ixal, there will be too many "Superhero X is better than Superhero Y" discussions. I haven't played many superhero/villain MMOs, so I am sorta new to the idea, but right now it looks terrible! Hopefully, it will be less flying around in tight underwear and more on causing mayhem or saving the day from mayhem or causing mayhem and then saving the day for a medal.

Well, there was a Marvel Universe MMO coming out awhile ago, and while that has since been cancelled, it's a fair guess that DC will be broadly the same.

Here's a link [http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y98/tiredinnuendo/Forum%20Stuff/HeyYouKids.gif].

DC Universe huh?

Can I level up to Dr. Manhattan state (after completing some crazy quest that involves me having to kill myself and hope for the best) and be able to teleport everyone into different servers? - or back to their in-game house?

Yes. But the game was not completely cancelled. While Marvel pulled out, the company, the same who made City of Heroes, continued to develop it and just removed all the Marvel stuff. It will now come out under the name Champions Online.

Generally DC has the license and CO seems to have more customization options. But to me both are not very interesting as they are both multiplatform games (PC and console) which means that, for PC standards, they will be very simple.

And while it might be true that it being released on a console does mean the controls may be slightly simplified, thast doesn't mean the game itself will lack any sort of depth over any Pc specific MMO.
If only we had as high hopes as you.

So many MMO's coming out, some are bound to be the same.

I'm interested in getting this, and I probably will, but I have a few problems with it. First how are the superheroes going to level? I mean they can't say go here and kill X number of Y, sure they could say save X number of civilians, but remember how much that was in those Spiderman games? Second I just saw there armor videos, so, what, everyone will spend forever designing their own personal superhero and uniform then end the game in battle armor hiding everything they worked on? Superman doesn't go "that person is in trouble time to change out of my iconic uniform and into 2 tons of steel!" Third and finally, the story. From the trailers you find out that all these new super-heroes are getting there powers from Brainiac tech, and as I said before everyone is getting battle armor, how is this not going to backfire? After-all, if you have read or seen anything with Brainiac you know that he can control anything with a circuit from the word go, and powers from his tech?!? Seriously?!? Odds are Lex is a slave to Brainiac and the tech probably has some kind of mental or subliminal programming that will let him take them over. Yes Lex Luthor has come to help the world of the past by giving Brainiac a super-powered, battle-armored slave army!

Ranting aside if someone knows that I am going in the wrong direction and can provide facts and information to show I'm wrong I will take back everything I just said, but right now I think I just talked myself out of the game.

I dont know that much about it other than the fact that its an MMO that's on the PC as well as the PS3!
And for that I think it's awesome, and that Champions Online should go to hell.
