DDO question

I just began playing DDO and ive been wondering, is it truly free or will I end up going into a corner and forced to play?

As far as I know, the levelling coins that enable you to rise above a certain level are pretty rare, so buying them is much, much easier. But, I don't think that you'll be completely forced to pay for anything.

They've scrapped the levelling coins completely, so right now, it's completely free (many people use a system called favor grinding with multiple low-level characters over different servers to be able to get the good stuff without "paying" for it). Supposedly, it does get difficult to level past 12 without spending a bit of money on adventure packs (and the early packs still help the level up process).

It's "free" in the same sense that Farmville is "free". You can play for as long as you want without paying a cent, however you can purchase advantages through micro-transactions.

thanks, good the leveling coins I heard were annoying to get so its good to see their gone.
