Dead Rising 2 Performance

I was wondering if i ask for some friendly advice from the collective experience of the escapist community. I recently got Dead Rising 2 off of the steam sale, but the game will get to being unbearably slow with the framerate dropping in high zombie areas.

Would anyone have any suggestions and tips for improving the performance of this game.

I have a Dell Studio 15 Laptop, which runs most new games fairly well. I have Mass Effect 2, Fallout New Vegas, Civilization V, and Left 4 Dead 2 running with no issues.

I've never heard of Steam causing frame issues but you should really try checking the game settings in "PC settings" via the options menu.

try tweaking/experimenting with the settings, try lowing the AA/quality ect and see if that has any effect.

On a 4570? Turn the settings down. Dump the quality on shadows and zombies and kick down your texture filtering to trilinear.

At least start from lowest settings, work your way up if you have to. I haven't had any troubles with Dead Rising 2 like this. Verify integrity of game cache too.

Be sure to not turn on AA.
