I did not enjoy the Dead Space 2 single-player at all. Mostly because it tries to be too scary and fails because every knows that the scariest game is Amnesia The dark descent. Now impaling annoying jumping babies that come in hordes at you with a Javelin Gun is fun its not challenging so it falls short. Dead Space 2 becomes great in its multi-player. I personally hate multi-player, but I loved the Dead Space 2 multi-player. It reminds me a lot of Left 4 Dead where you are able to play as the enemy. And jumping on people AS the baby is just grand. So what do you think about the single-player and multi-player?

Single player was awesome. The game wasn't scary, but then again neither was the first one. It was creepy and atmospheric, and I'm pretty sure that's all they were going for anyway. It was a cramped third-person corridor survival shooter, and I knew that going in.

Multiplayer has its moments, both good and bad. I really wish it was more like Left 4 Dead or something, instead of team deathmatch. Also, only four necros to choose from? How lame is that?

...also, Amnesia isn't scary at all, man. Why do people keep saying that it is?

dude, you cant just say something not scary because you think something else IS scary. if you didnt like the single player fine, but if you're going to argue the case you'll need more than that and 'impaling babies is not challenging'

I think you got them mixed up. The Single player was amazing, but I think you need to look past the normal shock horror that you expected of the first one. I think that this time around they wanted to go for a more psychological horror; maybe it was just me, but I found the kamikaze babies in this game to be extremely disturbing. Yes they were necromorphs and obviously its kill or be killed, but at the same time they were still SO HUMAN that they might still have some humanity left in them, especially since it's never really revealed how much consciousness one has after becoming a necromorph. They coo, they gurgle, they crawl, they even embrace even if it is just to get closer to explode, and I could never get over the fact that they just might still be a little human, still might just be a baby somewhere in that terrible body. Other things were good psychologically too, the atmosphere in some places was amazing, like the elementary school, and the sense of desperation was a lot greater this time around.

That being said, the multiplayer just seemed like a joke. In Left 4 Dead you already CAN play as the special zombies, so this just felt like a rip-off of that. Granted it isn't completely the same, but Left 4 Dead just seemed better, and I'd rather play that.

What kind of logic is that? It tries to hard to be scary?? Ffs would it be scarier if it didn't try to be scary? Try turning off all the lights when you play it only at night and allow yourself to be immersed in it. That is what I do and it is perfectly creepy. And if you can't allow yourself to be immersed in it due to your own expectations of what horror should be well who's fault is that?

The single player was awesome, how can the clusterfuck of the most tacked on multiplayer possibly compare to it? Let me play as Dividers then i'll give it another chance

The multiplayer has far too many problems to be considered good. I'm tired of losing rounds because the objective we have to carry lags out and can't be used. There isn't much variety for the Necromorphs either, either you spam one type of Necromorph or nothing ever gets done.

As for the single player, I'd hardly call not being as scary as Amnesia as a bad thing. Amnesia sets you up to be hunted and helpless, if you had a weapon in Amnesia, I'm sure most of us wouldn't find it nearly as frightening. Dead Space 2 does a much better of job of handling the weapons, the enemies, the puzzles and even the story and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
