So, what is your opinion on the new multiplayer mode in Dead space 2?

Personally, it´s kind of hard to explain. On one hand, when you get two good teams that fight against eachother it can be a blast as both teams give the others everything they´ve got.

However, if the team you are on is shit, or the other team is shit, or both teams are shit, it instantly becomes boring. The other team is shit? Then you get to play humans for 25 minutes and play necro for about 3 minutes! I wish it was a competition of who could do the most objectives.

Like, if there is five objectives and the timer runs out on one, then the game simply switches to the next until they all end. That would be awesome.

So how about you? Love it or hate it? Got any tips to share?

(PS: Feel free to drop your gamertag if you´re looking for a game!)

Sounds a bit like the L4D competitive mode, but with a touch less polish. I might go for it actually

I weep at the wasted potential, similar to how i feel about the singler player too actually.

It feels unbalanced to me.

Every single match I play, the Necromorphs always win.

Running around the ceiling is kinda fun though.

I thought the single player was absolutely amazing myself.

What was it you felt wasn't up to scratch? I'm guessing the scares?

Bingo, i thought it was great as well, The atomoshpere was great, the setting was great, the characters were great, Issacs voice was great, they made the pacing better as well, it raised more questions on the DS lore for me than answer them but thats okay, things to muse about in the DS forums.

Thing is Viceral doesn't do scary, they do..well, viceral shock. Im not expecting them to turn it into Dead-Amnesia, nor would i want to, Deadspace is Deadspace. But at times when im cowaring in a corner because the power blanks out and im coated in darkness i wonder "why isn't there more of this?" Not much cowering to be had in general

Also im hoping the go nuts with the monster creations on DS3, The pack was good, the puker was interesting and that Velociraptor-like creature was Goddamn awesome!. more of that, more variety.

Its interesting the gameplay, essentially both teams win by mobbing up, so its bascially a mobbing contest.

Yeah, it certainly isn't Silent Hill. But it did make me jump a fair few times. Especially one moment in an elevator.

And then there was the
eyeball machine
.... my god that made me squirm.

Which one? when going to the Church? or when you open one up and there's a puker there? oh, or Nicole? oh or when going to engineering?...they sure do love to stage events in elevators..

I was oddly at ease with the eyeball thing, but i was riding a wave of "i understand what the steps meant" joy. Also why couldn't they of chosen some other antagonist than a regenerator? far to same-y, difficult and at times thrilling, but same-y

What were your thoughts on Nicole by the way? at times she was great, like when crawling out of the engineering tunnel and she attacks you and other times just a little bit cheesy, that radom "acceptance" bit near the finale was really off to me, i was almost glad when it turned out she lied, Glad and full of rage!

I thought she was important to the game as to me she was the only part of it that gave me that awful, Silent Hill-esque emotionally charged fear, as opposed to the BWAARRRGH! MONSTER! scares. The bits you mentioned were great, and I also liked when she climbed up on the desk at the beginning in that weird psycho-sexual aggressive pose. I like how she helped flesh Isaac out, even though I felt his relationship with Elly was more believable and... well, human I guess.

I could've wept for joy when Ellie lived, finally someone sane who isnt a corpse or a betraying cow. Looking back at the series, they really love making women betrayers dont they?.

Something i noticed was that in-game moments of Issac talking lacked compassion, his cries weren't really believable when a Necro walked into the Surgery room, or a guy got dragged away from the elevator.

DS3 will hopefully improve these things.
