I think that its a better game than the first, but its not given me the same sense of dread that I had wondreing the claustrophobic corridors of the SS Ishimura. I think that could be because this time around I know the tricks thats its going to pull, not that I haven't jumped out of my skin dozens of times. Also, Isaac is much more of a hardass this time around, maybe its time for a new character in the next game.
But I have enjoyed what I've played so far, the graphics are nice, the sound and lighting effects are great and blowing out windows to suck enemies out into space is an interesting idea, if a little under used. The action at times is a little Uncharted-y and at other times a little confusing, I'm still not sure how exactly I beat the Tormentor. But I did like the War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version) homage in chapter 2.
And necromorph children are so wrong.
