I think that its a better game than the first, but its not given me the same sense of dread that I had wondreing the claustrophobic corridors of the SS Ishimura. I think that could be because this time around I know the tricks thats its going to pull, not that I haven't jumped out of my skin dozens of times. Also, Isaac is much more of a hardass this time around, maybe its time for a new character in the next game.

But I have enjoyed what I've played so far, the graphics are nice, the sound and lighting effects are great and blowing out windows to suck enemies out into space is an interesting idea, if a little under used. The action at times is a little Uncharted-y and at other times a little confusing, I'm still not sure how exactly I beat the Tormentor. But I did like the War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version) homage in chapter 2.

And necromorph children are so wrong.

I finished it in one day too, I got it on launch (collectors edition) Played multiplayer all week til Friday, and beat it then.Great story, graphics, sound. It was just amazing, honestly Uncharted and Mass effect is in for trouble with dead space.

I am enjoying it... but it isn't exactly compelling.

Games such as Bioshock, Fallout and Mass Effect I had difficulty stopping playing, not in the addictive sense, but in the "Holy shit I have been playing for 5 hours straight?!" kind of way. With this I am barely playing more than an hour at a time because I am just not that into it.

The weapons are pretty good, the sounds very nice as are the graphics. The story is pretty "meh" although it's not really got much wrong with it other than it isn't particularly gripping; I don't find myself wondering what's going to happen next, I am just concentrating on not getting my face ripped off as I am playing on Zealot mode from the start (hardest difficulty you can start on).

It's odd because I can't really pick anything that's wrong with it. Maybe I am just not in the right mood.

The first one barely made me jump. This one.. the first half an hour, the gas streams that go off and then the sprinklers... not even necromorph related actually made me jump <3

I loved the opening sequence because it didn't give you any chance to settle in, it was just BOOM! PANIC!

And the bit that made me jump the most was, in fact, a light going on by itself. Lol.

I'm loving it. I'm on Chapter 7 right now and I can say that its easily scarier then most so called horror games of this decade. Its focusing more so on scenic scares then on "SURPRISE! HERE IS A MONSTER!" tactics.

It's fun. I started on Zealot, and in nearly 5 hours, got to chapter 10. Much improved over Dead Space 1 (i.e, More environments, less backtracking, improved kinesis, such as being able to use necromorphs own claws to impale them, Isaac having a personality now, which you can relate to, more good puzzles.)
Over all, the game is much improved, and I can't wait to tackle hardcore mode. The game isn't really horror, though, just tense, but still excellent.
