Dead Space Costuming advice

Hey all! I'm a cosplayer (AKA: Dude in spandex) And I want to turn my hand to an Isaac clarke Dead Space 2 engineering suit. Basically this:

Unfortunatly... I don't know how. Specifically lights and materials. Currently I know how to put it together, and I have a base for it, but I don't know what to make it from or how to integrate even basic lights into it. If anyone could give me a hand I would be much obliged.

LED strips? I don't know anything about costume making, so I'm not particuarly sure why I'm commenting. But maybe you could have strips of blue LEDs over a dark visor for the helmet? That seems the part that would be difficult, if nothing else from trying to preserve vision.
