When you have a topic that you think is original but you look it up in the search bar and find that it's already been done, however no one has posted on said topic for a while, so my questions are the following.

Should you resurrect the topic if it is really good or interesting or you want to hear opinion's other than old ones?

Question 2, if you want to bring a topic back to life by creating a new one how old should the original topic be?

Depends on the topic, if its old news then you don't want to necro it, make a new one if you want opinions change and people do too, and nobody wants to be quoted form a thread a year old, it might not be how they feel now. If its a fun fourm game then do necro it, no reason to make another. Fun doesn't change.

I've heard that on these forums, it goes thusly:

- if the last comment on a thread you want to duplicate is less than a month old, you should probably resurrect it.
- if the last comment on a thread you want to duplicate is more than a month old, you should probably make a new one.

I'm not completely sure it works that way, though.

It all depend on how old said topic is. If it's more than a week i would advise against giving it the necro treatment with the exception to forum games.

If you want to talk about-
The greatest ever *something*
The most over-rated *something*
The most under-rated *something*
The worst ever *something*
Just leave it alone.

If the original topic is over 1 month old and no posts have been posted in it since, then you make a new one. You never revive a thread older then one month.
