Now, I was just wondering if anyone would like to play this, just read through some of this and let me know how you feel about it in that cute little chat box down below this post mkay? ;)

This Dragon Age Origins RP will involve 4-5 players. You may choose if you wish to become Grey Warden or if you simply want to fight alongside your fellow companions in battle against the evergrowing Blight.
It has been five years since the death of King Cailan Theirin and their defeat at Ostagar.
As the Blight conquer's every battle against the newly crowned king and his armies, Grey Warden are still accused of killing King Cailan Theirin, deceased ruler of Ferelden.
Now, hunted by the king's men and at war with the Darkspawn of the Blight, you only wish to restore Ferelden to it's former glory. But the only means to doing so will be restoring the Grey Warden ranks by restoring their dignity and honor that they once had.

Loghain Mac Tir must answer to what he did at the battle of Ostagar and realize that his lies are costing more and more soldiers and citizens their lives each day that passes.
You and your company are the only ones who know the truth and therefor it lies with you to bring Loghain to justice, along with the documents written by Loghain's senior officer, who was ordered to sound the retreat of Loghains forces, resulting in the death of King Cailan and the Blight's conquer upon the battle of Ostagar.

Only with the Grey Warden's ranks rebooted can you truly start your armies and march forth into the lands, destroying the Archdemon and finally putting a stop to this Blight.

I have a planned story for this, but freeform dialogue and player made sidequests are always welcome as long as they don't take too long. It will end up deviating from the story, possibly resulting in the death of the RP.

Anyway, this is the major idea, if I get some nice comebacks, I'll throw up some templates and even more information regarding races, Ferelden's current shape and classes / skills.

Now, when you make your sheet, you will be able to choose a class and ONE specialization [http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Specializations]. Further on into the game you can pick another.
I'm running out of time, so I will upgrade some more once I get back.

The Grey Warden played in the game will have died at the battle of Denerim. Although, he was a City Elf, the modern City Elves still do not posess equal rights, but they are more respected and feared than before. As the humans and dwarves have underestimated the true power of a City Elf, you never know if your slave or your local beggar may posess such strength aswell.

The Circle of Magi, in my version, will have been disbanded and the Chantry's Templars sent to eradicate The Grey Warden and all who stand with them.
Modern mages learn their craft from scrolls and the occasional magi teachers. The Harrowing has not been done for over four years, and therefor many mages are posessed by demons, some feel the demon and know it's presence, but others do not even know if they are posessed or no.

In my version, Loghain was crowned after the battle of Denerim, but Queen Anora perished in the assault, and Alistair is missing.

In this version, the battle of Denerim ended in a disaster. The Grey Warden lost his life to the Archdemon and thousands died. The army managed to drive the Archdemon back and his forces with it, damaging it so badly, it hasn't returned since.
After the battle, Alistair went missing and Queen Anora lost her life aswell, leaving Loghain the only one to be crowned king.
The battle of Denerim was not lost, but it's victory came with a big price, and it didn't last long

And remember, Grey Warden are hunted by Templars, for both having tainted blood coursing through them, aswell as having killed King Cailan.
This grudge from five years past still haunts everyone in Ferelden, and now with the Darkspawn closing in, King Loghain thinks the remaining Grey Warden may make the final push to overthrowing Ferelden, and help the Darkspawn take control of it.

When starting the RP, you will begin your tale like a story. For it is actually a story. We will begin our road at our camp. It is our first night together and we are telling eachother our tales.
Being a Grey Warden means you need to explain how long you've been one, how you became one and who recruited you and why.
Being a mage requires you to do the same thing, only who taught you instead of who recruited you. Self-taught is also an option, via scripts and books.
If you will play as a Rogue, you will either have been recruited by someone within the group, or simply stumbled upon us. Or, you may have a means of your own, turning the Grey Warden over to authority? Stealing the spoils of battle or simply running away from a bad past. You decide.
Playing as the Warrior class, you most likely will have served somewhere, as a guard, soldier, high ranking army official or just a Noble's bodyguard.

Whatever the Backstory; the above is your inspiration.

The first agenda of our group is to find and retrieve the Codex known as Last Words.

Name: S/E
Gender: Male or Female
Age: Nothing younger than 18, nothing older than 50
Race: Human, Elf, Dwarf and Qunari
Origin: If you're a human, were you a Noble? A slave? If you are an elf, are you a City Elf? Dalish maybe? Are you perhaps a Dwarf commoner, or maybe of Noble Dwarven blood? Your origin effects how you behave and how other's respond to you.
Class: Warrior, Rogue or Mage
Specialization: See 'Specialization' link above (Pick one only)
Appearance: Face, hair, clothes, armor, weapons and of course your overall attitude, personality and features
Backstory: See 'Your Character' spoiler for inspiration regarding your class
Note / Other: Something you want to reveal about your character that is not listed above. If there is nothing simply type 'None'

How far has the blight spread?

How many specialisations can we pick, just the one or three like in the game? (As of awakening)
Also..Can i be a spirit/Corpse/whatever..I did love Justice ever so much.

1. Haven't found a suitable name yet.

2. The characters from the game like Alistair will either be dead or have important roles in the story. It will be amongst my details to come.

3. It has spread all around Ferelden and has already taken some of the towns. The new king has fractions of his army stationed here and there across all Ferelden, fending off the Blight as they charge into Ferelden from all directions.

4.I still haven't thought of that, but I will most definetly go with 2 specilizations. It will be in my class / skills part of my details to come.

5. You may be a magi who has cheated death. Your ways of which, spirit, undead, that is up to you. But such a powerful magi would be one of a kind, I am willing to give you the spot if you wish to join.

Any other questions or notes regarding the RP will be answered ASAP.

It might be nice.
A question, though: what do we assume were the conclusions of all the really big decisions in the game?
What was the Warden's origin?
How was the case of Redcliff solved?
What happened to the Anvil of The Void?
Who is the new king of Orzammar?
What happened to the Dalish elves of the wood?
What happened to Loghain?
Who rules Ferelden now?
What happened to the Circle of Magi?
...

Those kinds of questions.

You can well expect many of the things from the game to be destroyed by the Blight or worse. Five years have passed and nothing is what it used to be.

There is a ruler of Ferelden, all I need now is a name. Help is appreciated.
Loghain is still in power at the town of Gwaren, but still has not given any of his men to aid the army of the King.
The Dalish elves still prosper within the woodlands.
And, as far as the Warden's Origin, I need you to explain that question. What Warden, or do you mean The Grey Warden overall?

Anyway, got to run. Hope that will suffice atleast some :)

"The Warden" refers to the protagonist of the game, of course. His origin will have a great effect on the way things develop, especially if he chose the origin specific boon in the end of the game.(when the new king offers to give you a great gift, every origin has one such gift special to it. So the Mage can ask for the Circle to become free of the Chantry's supervision, the City Elf can ask for equal rights, etc.) Such decisions often have a huge effect on the game world.
As for a name for the new ruler, just decide whether it's Alistair, Annora, or both.

I have answered most of your questions above. Please feel free to look through them and ask more.
I'm going out tonight to see that new film Clash of the Titans. After it I'll post some more details, and MAYBE some preview of the templates.
If there are more people interested by the time I get back, there will probably be more information regarding the group.
Codex: Last words
I sit here. I sit alone amongst the dead and amongst the scrolls that cover these once great halls. Three years ago, King Cailan and his army stood against the Blight at Ostagar. I was there. I survived the war, and I came back here to this fortress, thinking it was safe. I was wrong.
The Darkspawn came. They came and took us away. Those who managed to hide soon died from illness or worse.
My name is Raynthal. My duty here is a Scholar and recorder of history. And I think my secret has been left un-spoken for too long. I prayed to the Maker and asked his forgiveness. But I have long ago lost faith.
I recide in the great fortress known as Kinloch Hold. This is where the Circle of Magi made it's final stand against the Blight, but it did not suffice.
I fear I am the only remaining Scholar within these halls, and I pray that this Codex will tell the tale of what truly went on at Ostagar.
Fear of death has arrived but not overcome my spirit. I feel my death is closing in. I suffered in battle with the Darkspawn, but that is not what this is about.
This is what I saw at Ostagar.

As the armies of the Darkspawn charged forth at our troops, flaming arrows and boulders breached the air and penetrated flesh. It was a battle of the ages.
As the great tower's beacon was lit and Loghain's forces were signalled to strike, I recided behind them. I was signed for mending duty, to heal Loghain's troops. Or atleast those who would return from the battlefield.
I saw the Grey Warden, that regular City Elf and that human, Alistair upon the bridge leading to the tower, and I prayed that the beacon would light and Loghain's forces would overpower those of the Blight.
My prays were left in darkness.
The Grey Warden and his allies managed to light the beacon and Loghain's forces just stood there, watching the slaughter of King Cailan and the mighty Warden, Duncan.
Loghain then sounded the retreat of his troops, and they abandoned the King to his fate.

As I realized what was happening, I followed his troops to save my own life.
But what followed, was even worse.
Loghain declared The Grey Wardens killed King Cailan, and that it was their fault the battle of Ostagar fell in favor of the Darkspawn.
I here pledge these last words, as written evidence, that Loghain is not the rightful ruler of Ferelden, and that he should be brough to justice and pay for what his lies have cost us already.

I feel the end closing in, and I can hear the terrifying roar of those un-earthly demons just outside the door.
My only hope now, is that I die before they reach me.

A mage like that just seems OverPowered, but ill think about that approuch, i like the fade spirit idea though

Ill think while i tan, Anyone wants to make a suggest a character tie in with mine would be good, Cheers.

Name: Jason
Gender: Male
Race: Elf
Origin: Dalish
Age: 18
Class: Warrior
Specialization:
Templar
Appearance: Wears dark black armor and a long gray cape. Carries a longsword with a single Topaz embedded in the hilt of the blade. Has black hair that falls down to his shoulders and blue eyes. Has a long scar over his right eye that stretches down to his chin. Has an embroidered sheild for his Clan's seal, before his clan was slaughtered in the Blight.
Backstory: Was born in a small Dalish camp to the Northwest, and served the Keeper with honor. Served the Keeper for his entire life. The Dalish and the guard managed to hold the Darkspawn at bay while the Gray Warden tried to end the blight. It was all for nothing, the Warden died and Jason was greviously wounded and tainted by Darkspawn blood spraying into his mouth from a fallen darkspawn. There was no hope to cure Jason, so they gave him to the Wardens to aid him. Jason took part in the ceremony to make him into a Warden and was the only one to survive out of four others wounded at Denerim. Jason now is on a quest to find The Codex: Last Word, traveling with other Gray Wardens like himself. Jason has only been a Warden for four years.
Note/Other: Is a distant relative of the grey Warden who died fighting the Archdemon

Trapped, perhaps? Or worse yet, cursed. Maybe something to do with Blood Magic?

And remember, you don't need to be a Grey Warden, you can be like Morrigan or Sten! :D
Oh, and I totally forgot Race in the templates, writing that up now, remember to change your sheet Pyro.

How could he possibly be a distant relative of Duncan, if he is a Dalish Elf? Duncan didn't have any family to speak of, and any child produced via a Human/Elf crossbreed would be born as a human(according to the Wiki).
