Has anyone else played deadlight yet? And what are your thoughts?
It feels...odd to me. I can see some of the more intense parts promised by the trailers being more exciting, but the controls take more than a little getting used to, and things being so zoomed out all the time makes it difficult to be scared.
Also, can we please stop adding main character immunity to zombie bites without explaining why? Please. I see how one bite=death gameplay could be frustrating, but could nobody come up with a decent reason why this is the case, when in the opening scene, you see the main character shoot someone because they got bit?
Oh, and "shadows"? Come on. I'm all for giving them a different name. As played for laughs as it is in "shaun of the dead" people in the scenario would probably be reluctant to call them zombies as it pulls them further away from the reality they knew before, but "shadows"? That just sounds silly. Like you're going out of your way to say "OUR ZOMBIES ARE DIFFERENT!". The name's gotta make sense, in land of the dead, they were called stenches because they smell, in world war z they were given names like "zack" or "zed head" in accordance with the tendency for people at war to give the enemy such a collective name ("Jerries" "Charlies"), at what point would a large amount of people decide to call them "shadows"?
Also, it's being hurt on metacritic. It has a score of 69 (quiet at the back!), with 14 postives, 22 mediocres, and 2 negatives. No user reviews yet.
