Moffat created the original Angels story.
Too right! And that means something, as long as both of us agree to the standard that an artist cannot damage their own concept.
A concession, however, that I will not make.
Moffat is my favourite writer in the New Who. Blink is one of my favourite episodes. both bits I've told you before, though I wouldn't blame you if you didn't remember. After all, I remember telling you because your name is very Who related. Mine? It's the name I record vintage covers badly and terrible rock songs under, which is in no way related to Doctor Who. Unless I manage to write a Time Lord Love Ballad or something.
However, the new instances of the Weeping Angels took the wind out of their sails. Doesn't matter who wrote it, it took an awesome one-off villain and made them less awesome by running with them in a less intense environment.
Moffat's my favourite writer of the new Who. almost all my fave episodes were done by him. I still want to smack him for the two part Angels story. That arc was handled almost like Davies Ex Machina, even. Boo.
Not that it was completely worthless, as any episode with River Song has some redeeming value. "Spoilers."
Apologies it took so long to respond, I was in the hospital for two weeks.
