I just got this game and it seems to have slipped under the radar of most people. It's like if a Japanese developer couldn't make Twin Peaks:The Game and decided to Just change the characters looks. The combat leaves a lot to be desired but everything else is just Supreme!

GOTY Zach?

I'd recommend linking to more information about the game, such as reviews, a wiki and such. Because as you have mentioned, it completely slipped under MY radar for instance, so it'd be nice to know what you are talking about.

Of course, a quick google search fixes this.

It was one of the most beloved games of Jimquisition guy (who thought it was way superior to Hard Rain.

I thought it was a downright hilarious game. I loved to riff on it.

It was absolutely amazing, but I also really loved Nier, so I wasn't actually able to pick a GOTY between the two. But yes, Deadly Premonition has pretty much everything you could want in a game aside from good combat. Also, just this afternoon I thought to myself that Francis York Morgan may just be my favourite videogame protagonist ever. Just wait until you get to the diner scene where he talks about previous cases. Hi-freaking-larious.

This game is one of the worst games I have ever played. The driving is terrible, the story is fucked, the audio was most likely recorded by a 12 year old who stole bad copies of it from other people and the physics are screwed.

Did I mention its also one of the games I will never sell because I love it so goddamn much? Yeah, that's how much this game has messed with me.

I really really love all the story, characters and setting of Deadly Premonition. Just a shame about the godawful gameplay really. I gave up on it around the time it was throwing wall-crawling girls at me every 6ft. That was just purely obnoxious.

Maybe one day I'll go through the game again on an easier difficulty but right now I'm still pissed at that one section of gameplay.

From the few hours I played it(just passed the hospital bit damn squirrel keys) it's like the unwanted child of L.A Noire and Resident Evil 4 with Twin Peaks influencing everything. The movie references are also awesome although it's a bit Patrick Bateman like. The music is also amazingly terrible.

From what I've seen of it, I get the impression that the storyline is basically the Troll 2 of video games...

I really feel like it's more the poor mans Alan Wake.

Rage building!

Oh. Yeah, that makes sense. I like you a bit more now :) (not that I expect you to care).

It's older than LA Noire, though. Also, I loved the music and bothered ordering the soundtrack. Yeah, not all of it is great, but there's really good stuff there. But, hey, opinions.

See, I get where you're coming from, but can't help disagreeing. Mainly because Alan Wake bored me about halfway through and the ending didn't really feel like much of a pay-off. Gameplay and graphics-wise you definitely have a point, but I feel the story, characters and presentation of both was way better in DP.

Yes, I really do love talking about this game.

It's quite good, too, which is why it's so awesome.

OT: IF you've beaten the game, look through the extras. There's some concept photos in there, which shed a whole lot of light on the inspirations for the game's locations.

I really liked the game, and it has some of the best characters I've seen in a while. They're almost all genuinely interesting, in that harmless psychopath type of way.

Naw.
It's insane, but utterly brilliant.
It makes no sense, but it also makes complete sense at the same time.

I love it.

Wow. Never heard of this, so I looked it up on IGN (score of 2, which is unheard of) and metacritic (more polarizing in reviews than Metroid: Other M). Not sure what to make of it. If it can really be picked up for $20, it should be worth it just to try something different.

I bought it preowned for about £15 with no knowledge on it at all. The box gives NOTHING to indicate how wacky and arcadey the game is.

It's clearly not very appealing to websites like IGN because of how unconventional it is. If it had a better shooting system then it would at least get a 6 though its quite nice how stealth is somewhat of an element when dealing with zombies.

Can you recommend any other strange games for this new PS3 owner?
