THIS IS NOT A NEWS POST OF A DEADPOOL GAME COMING OUT!

While there are rumors about a Deadpool movie hanging around teh Interwebz, I've been thinking about a game based on Deadpool. I could see it being something very unique, due to Deadpool's habit of breaking the fourth wall. If you've seen the MVC3 trailer for Deadpool --->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Are2uSLBRs0, you'll understand why this could be very interesting.

For example, it could be an ultra-gory Devil May Cry -esque hack & slash (and if the film is true, it it most likely will be) where Deadpool beats the crap outta everything in sight. The breaking of the fourth wall could offer some humorous possibilities for usable skills or "spells" as in God of War: for example, in an issue of Amazing Spider-Man, where Spidey and Deadpool have a fight, they get into a "yo mama's so"-style dissing battle, where Deadpool reveals that he has the "Mommageddon", an insult so powerful it will kill you of dehydration, because you will cry so much. While we never find out what it actually is, imagine it being used in-game as an attack that insta-kills one enemy and stuns others for a while. Visually it could be that Deadpool yells at one enemy: "Hey, yo mama..." and then there's a black bar over deadpool and a bleeping sound for a couple seconds and then the target's head just explodes.

The most powerful "spell" would be "Break the wall" where Deadpool jumps at the screen and yells something, then the game "bluescreens" for a second and next all the enemies on-screen are killed.

Just think of all the possibilities! Make Deadpool fight giant insects and yell "Eugh, this game is just filled with bugs" and stuff like that!

Not sure about the conversation value here, but I had to get this off my chest. Could you see this being something functional, why, why not? More ideas, concepts?

I dunno, something like the Wolverine: Origins game. Nice and bloody hack and slash, with some funny dialogue thrown into the mix. Also, since its Deadpool, make the character list nice and eclectic as well. People like the Great Lakes Avengers, the Wrecking Crew, plenty of stuff from the wackier side of Marvel. A cool idea for the art design would be a very stylized, deliberately comic book look (think Comix Zone for the Genesis, or the recent Comic Jumper). I mean, Deadpool's always been fully aware that his world is a comic book, so you might as well keep him in one.

Oh, and make it violent. And not even kinda realistically violent, like Wolverine, but full on crazy like Bulletstorm or Borderlands.

I dunno but a kinect sensor could be implemented with his breaking of the fourth dimension. I could see it being a 3rd person slash em up kinda like DMC but without the demonic theme. Beating enemies up with the camera or rubbing them out with a pencil from the artist

I'm sure people could come up with something more creative than me

EDIT: oh there will be one for 2014 because there is a film coming out and I'm sorry to say, te game will most likely suck. I made myself sad

I think a character like Deadpool would benifit from a Cell shaded art style or something, maye not as cartoony but certainly not ultra realism.

Anyway lets hope it isnt based on the rumoured movie and made by Sega.

Make it cell shaded as Soxa suggested, like in MvC3.
Combat would focus on hack and slash like DMC.

Having deadpool talk directly to you, maybe even have some dialogue options which you can converse with him and change the direction/story of the game, i.e. merc for the bad guys or good guys faction resulting in different endings.
Link in with various comic crossovers/hero's/settings to keep the game lengthy.
When you take a hit one time he could say...you with the controller, are you trying to get me killed? :p

And so on and so forth. It would be awesome.

Hmm, I'd certainly like to see that conversation aspect explored a bit, since

You could be the yellow boxes, playing Deadpool's alternate (or one of) persona(s) without even having to make a voiceover of them. And the graphics should definitely be cel-shaded, Shattered Dimensions-style. That would only do Deadpool justice.

I would certainly play a game like that. Deadpool as a character is great fun. A comic Jumper Type graphics with maybe some Devil May Cry type game play would be great fun they just would need a writer to channel the very essence of Deadpool to keep it all together.

Just break the fourth wall as much as possible and it would turn out just fine (e.g. picking up the health bar and using it to hit an enemy).
