He takes off his costume? I always assumed he lived in it, but have never read the comics. Sounds about right though. What rating is this movie?
The last time this came up, it did not go well.erttheking said:I'm assuming you meant to say bisexual.
From what I can find, pansexual is a term used by people who want to say that they're also attracted to intersex people, transexual people and everyone else that doesn't fit into simply male or female.
Nah uh. No bet. That sounds way too likely.Ihateregistering1 said:I've got $15 on my theory. Who's in?
Have you SEEN death in the Marvel comics? Hell, I'd go for Death and my last words would be "totally worth it!"TakerFoxx said:Dude wants to bone Death. He swings ALL the ways. It fits.
I think the proper term there would be omnisexual then. And that does sound like him.MrFalconfly said:No I think he means just sexual.erttheking said:I'm assuming you meant to say bisexual.Silentpony said:So wait, whats the difference between Pansexual and just sexual?

That means, that Deadpool is mad enough to try and have a relationship with a power-socket (yes I do believe D-Pooly would be that crazy).
Genocidicles said:So bisexual then. Wait I forgot, you have to pander to tumblr and saying bisexual isn't radical enough these days.

...*Sigh* should've known things would've gone down this path. I should have KNOWN better.dirtysteve said:Deadpool is a fictional character, so sure, he can have a fictional sexuality too.

Or Peter Pan.
The Movie is rated M, I think.Xsjadoblayde said:He takes off his costume? I always assumed he lived in it, but have never read the comics. Sounds about right though. What rating is this movie?
Well, depends on how they write it. It's possible to write a character who is bi/pan and also mentally deranged and not make it offensive. Even if they wrote Deadpool as 100% straight I still wouldn't want to see him sexually harass people for a joke.Ihateregistering1 said:I'll go ahead and be the cyncial one, but this sounds like one of those things where at first people are going to be really happy and excited about it, because it shows more acceptance for people who identify as 'pansexual', plus it shows that a character who isn't standard heterosexual can still be ultra-badass. And then...
those same people will realize that Deadpool is completely bat-shit insane, and then they'll get offended because now they'll claim it's implying that only people who are mentally deranged would identify as pansexual.

It's not like him being pansexual means he has to have sex in the movie...Xsjadoblayde said:He takes off his costume? I always assumed he lived in it, but have never read the comics. Sounds about right though. What rating is this movie?
I'll put $50 on people being asspained, but I'll also move it up to way earlier than movie release, and it probably dying down after release or even before because something new came out for said people to get shitty about.Ihateregistering1 said:I'll go ahead and be the cyncial one, but this sounds like one of those things where at first people are going to be really happy and excited about it, because it shows more acceptance for people who identify as 'pansexual', plus it shows that a character who isn't standard heterosexual can still be ultra-badass. There's something I've always thought that was kind of weird. People act like they want science fiction to be nothing but escapist fantasy and that people who inject commentary in are ruining it or just pandering to a specific demographic (and as is typical it's never pandering if it's pandering to the speaker). Even though most of the science fiction classics were making commentary of some kind. Starship Troopers, the Forever War, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, etc etc. And Star Trek...I mean just look at this.MarsAtlas said:Its a hard R-rating.Xsjadoblayde said:What rating is this movie?
You're expecting them to use critical thinking regarding sexual orientation when it comes to science-fiction. You have to give them a 120year old blue alien to fuck before they might think about that.Something Amyss said:The last time this came up, it did not go well.
Nerds - we'll argue to death about whether that crossguard in the new Star Wars is effective but heaven forbid we try to apply critical thought in science-fiction when its relative to real world circumstances.
Actually, I expect this to go bad. I was just bracing ert. Also, speak for yourself. I am totally a fake nerd. I don't even know who this Deathkill guy is. I just came in here to force pansexual representation on the nerd community on behalf of my special snowflake pansexual partner. It's all about what we find acceptable. Remember, people did complain about most of those, some quite heavily. We tend to look back at the old stuff as safe because we're past a lot of those points. Not to mention, this seems to almost always be used to complain about something that the person in question doesn't like. Not quite the same thing as what Mars is bringing up, which is also valid.erttheking said:There's something I've always thought that was kind of weird.
