I have to put my cat of 20 years down on Monday. By myself. No one to go with me that I would want anywhere near me.

I just need help mentally preparing because I honestly haven't a clue how I'm going to make it through this.

The bigger question is how aren't you going to make it through this? It hurts but life goes on. Eventually it stops hurting much. Twenty years is a really long time for a cat. You were obviously a great owner, so just remember that you did the best you could for your cat and she(?) had as good a life as she could have had. Most cats aren't so lucky.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's always hard to say goodbye but I bet your cat had a good life and you'll always have good memories of her/him.
