I used my Mac for musical stuff and writing. That is, until the hard drive crapped out. I'll get it fixed one day.

I have some friends who use macs, but their arguments don't make much sense. They try to defend the exorbitant price with the editing programs and such that are free....but I haven't ever seen them use those programs ever. If you don't game, and edit a ton, it COULD be worth it. A pc with some extra programs is just as good though, and it can do more than just surf the web when your done editing.

There is nothing that a Mac can do that a PC (Macs ARE PC's) can't, and there's nothing that a PC can do that a Mac can't. Everything can be solved between the two with a little programming...or hacks, lol.

I just like PCs better. I find Macs too user friendly and that whole on button deal makes we want to rip my hair out

I use Mac because the simplicity, the design, the interface and Apples programs are supperior to what I've seen Microsoft deliver.

Though I consider myself as a hypocrit since I'm using Office on it.

because PC are f*cking shit!!!! I don't care to much about gaming. Macs have CoD2 in which I'm set! Everything else can be bought on a 360 on which I'm getting in 2 days. So there! It depends on what you want in a computer. If you use a PC fine If you use a Mac fine. But people keep thinking PCs are made by Microsoft! They're not god damnit! If you going to start a debate/flame war do it properly. Don't say the console (aka PC) is better than MACs OS!!! But I like Mac OS better than Windows! Why? Because at least it doesn't gum the f*ck up in 18 months!!!! Also it just comes more naturally to me.

I use mine a lot for recording, editing etc., and it's just comfortable for me. I had a PC for a week and so much shit happened to it that I just couldn't be bothered. It's not that I don't know how to use a PC, because I've basically used them equally (Macs at home, PCs at school), and I've just found I prefer my Macbook Pro. Besides, it's right perty.

Woah, dude. No need for that. Sure, there's a lot of hassle for us, but it's just easier if you shrug it off.

Seriously, though, it's as if we drink out of toilets or play guitars with our knobs. I don't know what the big deal is, some people just use macs instead of pcs. Learn to deal with it, world.

I remember that I used to love Macs because they were so colorful and friendly looking.

I don't trust Apple to be honest.

My Dad just got a Mac, but they wanted to charge him £700 just to put in an extra 4GB RAM. Plus, everything's sealed off in all of them so you can't adjust anything. They're like the most expensive console ever basically, that can't even run games.

Very shiny though and people use them for video editing and such mainly.

For work I use a Mac because they work better (no really), for creative software they are noticeably faster than equivalent PCs. Whether that's down to the software being optimised for Macs because 'it's the industry standard' or the Mac OS I don't know, but it's true. They also have really nice to use keyboards but crappy mice.

The OS user interface is better than windows for video editing and painting as well, although you have to disable the click-background thing for it to stop sucking and work properly.

At home it's a PC, but I may get rid of it for a MacBook Pro because I spend too much time gaming on the PC, PC's are certainly more versatile than Macs. I'd never buy a Mac for general use, their lifespan is way too short for a home use PC.

Really when you buy a Mac now you're choosing an Operating system and a brand image, there's no practical hardware difference these days.

Way to discuss things intell.. intell.. int... oh bugger it I'll just call you a moron, you mormon!

Oh bugger, again...
You double posted...

I prefer my Microsoft OS over the Mac OS, due to that Mac is more of a pain to use. Sounds odd, but it's just how it feels.

the MS OS just feels right, and it just feels like it should act like it does. From which it does.

So over all, it's just a matter of preferences...

...those same preferences apply to this picture XD

I have my prefrence (PC) but what I want to know, not that I'm saying anyone here can answer this is question of mine is...

Whenever I'm doing art on my PC I get Mac users (people I don't know) have to voice their opinion with their preppy Mac friends and call me an idiot for working with art on a PC? I'm using photoshop there's no difference between photoshop on a mac and a PC except shortcuts. I don't care what they use so why do they care what I use?

I disagree. The one on the right is soooooo unfabulous!

No, really, it's so much nicer to have it all contained in one little unit, and the magnetic power cords have definitely saved my ass many, many times. I live like a student (well, duh, considering I am one), and I do loads of extra activities and, as such, have a ton of stuff that it's incredibly easy to trip over, even if you aren't a retarded walrus.

Linux.

I've worked on macs when I have to and the first 10 mins is just adjusting, but the program seems the same and all the shortcuts are the same except they use whatever the hell that button is.

Trying to find things confused the hell out of me though, and then things looked like they were there but they were just decoys and everything hides if you don't look at it. It was all very confusing but when the program I want is up not much difference.

Look, there's tossers in every 'community'? generally, it's the people that think they're part of a community just for having purchased a PC or a Mac.

I had to set up my friend's mac for her when she got it. Worst time of my life. It just wants to do everything for you, and if you even tried to go outside what it wanted to do, it through a big fit.

Also, I have i-tunes because of my ipod and I dislike it as well. I have, in every possible menu, told it not to do anything on its own and not to even ask me. So, for example, I have it set to NOT open on start up and to NOT check for updates. And yet, every time I start my computer, it pops up saying "There is an update, install?". Like.. wtf?

Mac does not suck. I will give it that Macs are VERY good at what they do. But what they do it artistic stuff such as photoshop, movie making, music making, and looking damn fine while it does it. Problem is, once you go outside of its nice little box (ie: gaming, programming, science programs (MATLAB, MAPLE, ECT.), PCs tend to destroy them. I don't do artistic stuff, so I don't use Macs.

Finally, does it bug anyone when Mac says on a commercial they have a new feature (ex: a couple years ago started bragging about a 2 button mouse), when PC's have had said feature all along?

Why do I use a mac?
Well, I can partially defend myself by saying for the artsy stuff, but in my weird technophobia, I prefer more traditional media and haven't done any digital art attempts in a while.
What I can defend is that my parents were willing to get me any computer I wanted for my high school graduation, and after years of using a Dell desktop, I was done with Windows for a while. Yes, I can't do a lot of gaming off of it. That has not really impacted me. You know what I haven't had to do: look for anti-virus updates, reformat my hard drive, spend hours wondering why some install is not working, or even go looking online to get my interface to look how I want it. I admit some of those may seem petty, but I am just tired of all the stuff that Windows makes me do to make it work correctly. It seems counterintuitive to business. I guess I mostly use a Mac for the simplicity. I admit that most of my problems with Windows take almost no skill to figure out, but I am just at a point of being tired having to google solutions and figure out fixes.
In short, simplicity that save me sanity.

*thinks very carefully* Unless you're on a PS3 or a modded 360, isn't that still a PC?
